BOLD TEXT GOES HEREwhat is the fastest you have driven a car or bike and why did you back off.

I took my, at the time new, Ford Probe GT out to 110 mph once an interestate 79 north bound. I felt it could go 125 or 130, but back off after a while and continued to cruize at 80mph for several more miles.

I backed off because I didn't want anything to happen at that speed.

My first car was a 69; Chevelle 396 SS.

I used to smoke weed a long time ago and was high and drove 100 on the interstate, that was freak'n crazy and stupid.

130 in a rental car on a German autobahn. Backed off because the car was vibrating wildly. Benz's were whizzing past me as if I was standing still.

I'm kinda chuckling to myself b/c I'm the third person to share that I've hit 125 (for a very brief period of time) in my old Mustang.

The fastest I've ever driven was about 115 MPH in a 1969 Pontiac Grand Prix with a 380 cubic inch V8. My buddies and I were heading to Park City to go skiing and this happened in the Salt Flats area. We backed off after a few minutes and took it back down to 80 - which felt moderately slow after 115. The car handled beautifully. It was a Model J - wish I had it back sometimes.
