Dick Martin, the zany half of the comedy team whose "Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In" took television by storm in the 1960s, making stars of Goldie Hawn and Lily Tomlin and creating such national catch-phrases as "Sock it to me!" has died. He was 86.

    Laugh-In was a fun show.

Well it looks like Dick gets this week's "Fickle Finger of Fate" Award. He was a nice man and brought us all a lot of laughs. "You bet your sweet Bippy."

That is very sad news, "Laugh-In" was one my favourite shows when I was a kid in the late 60's. TV that original and zany is extremely rare.

    "Say goodnight, Dick." "Goodnight, Dick."

    Great show. Funny guy.

It was just as ground-breaking a series as All In The Family and had a wonderful cast. He led the parade. Miss those days and will miss him. RIP, Dick.icon_cry.gif

He was a great director too. He directed lots of episodes of 'The Bob Newhart Show' amongst others.

Apparently he will be buried in beautiful downtown Burbank.

Laugh-In was so cutting edge for the 60's. I loved it. I am sad to hear of his passing.

It was the first show I ever watched on TV in colour...

Oh that makes me sound old.

Well, I didn't think you all were so old you would have been through "Laugh In" live!

Fantastically funny show, great comedy, and wonderfully led by Rowan and Martin's skits.

Not "Borrrrrrring" (remember Joanne Worley) at all!

And Ruth Buzzi -- phenomenally funny, too -- "Oh, Tyrone" whap whap with the purse...

Sad to hear of Dick's demise.
