Thought I'd start a thread for any o' the guys in here who enjoy the loud brash music of the Rock/Metal scene & enjoy going to concerts or shows.

I've been to my fair share in my life - including: Ozzy Osborne, Kiss, Aerosmith, Megadeth, Type O Negative, Queensryche, The Misfits, Motley Crue, Slayer, Marilyn Manson, Slipknot, System of a Down, Judas Priest, & more......

    Any bands ya'll went/saw & enjoyed a BADASS show?! icon_cool.gif

One of my best concerts ever was when Jimmy Page & Robert Plant quit distancing themselves from their Led Zep past and embraced it. They had a full symphony orchestra along for "Kashmir." INSANE show!

Kiss was always fun to see, but the chatter between songs aimed at 14-year-old delinquents got old fast.

Is it just me, or does it feel like admitting you like rock puts you at risk for getting your Gay card revoked? icon_confused.gif

Nightwish is always awesome, especially when they get Sonata Arctica as the opening act... best concert ever.

Unfortunately very few of the bands I listen to ever tour here icon_sad.gif dammit Sweden/Germany/Norway/Russia/Finland, stop making better music than America

I have ZERO shame in admitting & being prideful of me LOVING music that isn't "dance" or "diva" associated. icon_twisted.gif

NOT that there is any problem for anyone liking Dance & such - just not my choice o' music.

AMoonHawk saidNow really ... isn't really just all about the drugs?

I think there is MORE drugs on EVERY level at a "circuit party" than any Rock/Metal show ya would go see. ALOT o' bands in that genre are actually drug-free nowadays.

Melodeath, gothic, power, and symphonic... used to be into some melodic black metal a few years ago but the uber poppy Amaranthe-ish stuff got to me lol

You bet! Big fan of those genres and I'll take those any day over pop music.
Genres: Alt. Rock, Grunge, Hard Rock, Gothic Rock, Symphonic Metal, Classic Rock, Heavy Metal, it goes on as I give lots of music a chance.

Bands: Garbage, Nirvana, The Smashing Pumpkins, Bush, Chevelle, Alice in Chains, Nightwish, Epica, Staind, Tool, System of a Down, Ozzy Osbourne, Danzig, Bah, let's just say I have a lot lol.

I actually went to my first official concert last month to go see Filter, Chevelle, and Bush play. Have to say, I had a great time.

I went to a cupple of "rock/metal shows" or festivals.

A few that I've seen live : Stone Sour, Killswitch Engage, Unearth, Three Days Grace, Mastodon, Disturbed, Dragonforce, Coheed & Cambria...

Last but not least, I have seen Slipknot 5 times between 2002 and today. I can't get enough of it.

I have a very diverse taste in music. So don't take the daft punk video in my profile as a way to say I don't like rock.

I grew up way more into punk and alternative rock but still love metal.

Especially fast, almost punk tempo metal like iron maiden. Also major props to dancy, electronic influenced metal like ramstein and white zombie.

I have been going to Hardrock/Metal shows for many years here are some of my favorites:

The Scorpions - With special guest Mike Schenker, who was formerly with the band and came out for this one special show

Guns 'n Roses - Saw them open for Iron Maiden before they were big a great show

AC/DC - I had never heard of them but saw them in Australia with Bon Scott as lead singer and later in Canada with the new singer

Van Halen - with David Lee Roth the first time around before Sammy Hagar and when Eddie still liked playing guitar not messing around with keyboards

Aerosmith - I have seen them many times but the first time was just after Toys in the Attic came out and it was their peak as a live band in my opinion

Metallica- I have seen them many times in many venues from small clubs when they started out to huge stadiums. Probably the best show was when they toured with Faith No more and Guns 'n Roses

Judas Priest - I saw them first at a small club called the El Macombo (a legendary club in Toronto) and I am going to see them on their final tour in November.

Kiss/Blue Oyster Cult - I saw this show in Florida when I was very young. Not a huge fan of either band, but I liked them and the pyrotechnics and light show were both really great at the time

Some local bands like Rush, Triumph Max Webster and Goddo all did great local shows and all played at my high school before they got famous.

I used to go to them all the time, the other day I was thinking about how much i miss going to metal/rock shows, really want to start going to them again.

Best rock/Metal bands I ever saw were.....Nine Inch Nails, Pink Floyd, Jane's Addiction, Sex Pistols, Ministry, My Bloody Valentine, Jesus and Mary Chain Swans, Machine Head, Alice In Chains, Tool and Killing Joke.

Nine Inch Nails were the best, just mindblowing. I love dark heavy music too and there are not many clubs that accomodate this type of music. I also like it when its really fucking loud, overwhelmingly loud. I do clubbing now, but still love all that music dearly. I have been out of the loop gig wise.
I wanna go to a good old fashioned punk gig again and fucking Slam Dance or something.

Good group of guys in here, I'm a pretty big fan of a heavier genre.

As a youngin' though, I'm a fan of both the classics and also the new and upcoming "core" genres.
