I'm not expecting a lot of replies, don't know how many nerds are on here. But which is your favourite JRPG?

Mine's gotta be Lost Odyssey. 4 discs of Pure Win.

I remember seeing Xenoblade advertised, and getting excited. Then seeing it was on the Wii :/ I've got an unexplainable aversion to it.

    Is it good then?

And I've never played Xenosaga haha.

Earthbound was fantastic! I tried to like Mother 3 but damn the battle combo system. That alone ruined the game for me icon_evil.gif

Ya I think mother 3 is way over rated. It just didn't have the same magic, creativity and surrealism as earthbound.

I'd say you're right about Mother 3 in terms of magic, but I cried a hell of a lot more during Mother 3 than nearly any other game I've played.

I mean to each his own. But I kinda saw the twist of who the masked man was and already had the boss of the game spoiled (from ssbb) so I dunno the plot didn't really affect me that much.

Only rpg to make me cry is reserved for when aeris got shanked in the back with sephiroth's giant sword and the piano version of aeris's theme plays as the holy material bounces away.... So classic, I remember that scene vividly.

Oh, you've got to be blind to have not seen the identity of the Masked Man from a mile away, but the way the final battle played out was the kicker for me. I realize that the final bosses in the Mother series have some "trick" to them, and I really felt like this was more a test of personal emotional fortitude than anything else.

Aeris' death was emotional at the time, but it's really just passé at this point, IMO. I think the deaths in FFIV were handled a lot better.

I spent an insane amount of time with the FF series, 6 and 7 mostly. Now JRPGs kind of bore me...

Most recently is a short game called "Chaos Rings". It's a mobile game so it was short, but love the story and the characters <3

It wouldn't be considered fully JRPG, since it's more tactical than anything, but I'm rocking Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn right now. Probably one of the better games that I've played in a while! Anyone who has a Wii should check it out (if you can find it...it's pretty rare now, and expensive on Ebay lol). It's a pretty staggeringly difficult game sometimes, even on easy mode...
