It's my birthday today and it's gotten me in an emo, pensive mood. The past couple years have been rough on me, and it's really made me think God has an extremely cruel sense of humor. It's times like these when it really requires one to dig deep. Guess either I'll die fulfilled or die trying. Still, without knowing what the future will bring, I can at least look back and thank the people who have got me here, and this is where this post comes in.

I don't know if every name I list here will read this, but it's worth a shot anyway. This might seem self-absorbed, but I'd like this post to be public so that all these guys who have affected me positively one way or another can be recognized for the good they've done because they deserve it, even if it's just one person whom they've helped. Please refrain from negative posts. If anyone is inspired to thank anyone else, please feel free to do so.

First and foremost, pm_83. Paul you have been an incredible friend, even from thousands of miles away. Thanks for being there for me all this while. I'm really glad you've finally getting all the happiness and fulfillment you deserve in your life, and I'm sorry again about that one time when I was inexplicably cruel to you. I promise it won't happen again.

Greenhopper. Patrick, my man, you're a great soul to be around. Thanks for serenading me with your songs, your spirit has uplifted me many times. I really enjoyed the chats we had, your unique perspective on life really taught me quite a few things. May you find the peace and joy that you've been looking for, brother.

meninlove. Doug and Bill, RJ would not be the same without you. You're a shining example and an inspiration for many of us. I actually do sometimes think to myself, "I want to be like Doug and Bill when I grow up". Thank you always for your words of wisdom, and for keeping me going during dark times.

evo3d. Trent. You are young, yet you are wise. You were one of my first friends here, and you helped me get into the RJ community when most others wouldn't spare me a word. I really had a great time in Houston that one New Year's, and it's thank to you, even if it may not seem like it. I know your courage and tenaciousness will take you somewhere great one day.

lilZ. Zack, I don't even know if you're on here anymore. It's inspiring to see you keep the faith and a wonderful spirit even through all that you had experienced in your life. I hope you've finally found a happy place now.

PaulNKS. Paul, although we have not met for that long, the advice and encouragement you gave me really helped. You're a real solid guy. I hope you and Richard stay well. I hope to get to know you better in the future.

. Erik, I apologize for not staying in contact all this time. I hope you are well. I wish I had gotten to meet you when I lived in NC. Thanks for all the encouragement you've given me all this while.

Tanlejos. We barely know each other, I know. But the couple times when you helped me come to my senses, I need to thank you for that. "Wit and charm," I will always remember. Hope you find success in what you're looking for too.

Caesarea. Leeron, my fellow Wolverine. Thanks for all the football advice. I've tried to follow them as much as I can, and I can say some of it's definitely paid off. Good to see your football league doing well. Stay on the turf and go blue!

Rund86. Duane, as I still like to call DJ, you are seriously one of my favorite DJs from anywhere man. Thanks for being such a cool dude and filling the air waves with great music and your soothing voice. And Warrior Dash is already on my To Do List.

I know there are many more names that's missing from this list, and I apologize for omission because there are simply too many to name, but I definitely appreciate all that you've done for me, even if it's just the little things. And to RJ admin, thanks for keeping this great place going. To other RJers, thanks for making RJ a wonderful place.

    There's an old saying:

People make plans... and the gods laugh.

Glad to see you are determined as ever, as we say in football: keep your shoulders parallel to the line of scrimmage (i.e. facing forward) and keep your legs moving. Eventually something will give (helps to have some friends up there with you, "blocking").

Hope you have yourself a very happy birthday and good things to come in the next year!

I agree is tough and g-d gives us lots of roadblocks.....gotta remember there are reasons for everything and g-d does get a good olaugh from us i guess, but learn from every detour and try to keep being optomistic and one day at a time and all seems to work out. We all have our stuff and we all have our handfulls and it seems we just gotta get through the bad and the good surfaces brighter and better then ever before. Hope this helps...good luck....I am here for you

Happy Birthday and you didn't indicate some of the challenges going on in your life but if you like, please e-mail me and maybe we can bounce some things off of each other. I myself am going through some serious times in my life and there is a likelihood we can offer some sympathies to each other.

Besides, maybe someday...someday....Indiana can come close to beating the Wolverines! HA! I did not go to IU, however, I have been following them in football the past several seasons.

Sterling Heights, MI? To make this birthday memorable you ought to hook up with your hometown boy, Belloo. j/k (See, God is not the only one with an extremely cruel sense of humor.)icon_twisted.gif

I hope you had a great day and wish you brighter days in the year ahead.
    Happy Birthday.

This topic makes me wish I had found RJ sooner. There have been so many negative topics lately. It's good to see one so positive.

Hartfan: Have a happy birthday! I hope your life starts improving soon. We've all been through some tough times, sometimes for years at a time. Hang in there!
