Good for you, man. Squats are the only way you're ever going to put on real size in your legs.

Damn . I improved my form based on last weeks squat discussion I am still sore. Definitely the most comprehensive exercise you can do. The hormone release will build muscles besides you legs.

    That, Sir, is crap.

Study up on sarcoplasmic hypertrophy and muscular hypetrophy. Learn what you are talking about.

University study after university study has shown that leg press is by FAR better for sarcoplasmic hypertrophy, any day of the week, than squats.

Science is just that: science. Folk lore / myth is just that, too.

Also study up on exercise intensity, folks. Too much exercise drops your androgen to near zero. (Watch Bigger, Stronger, Faster, and The Human Body). You defeat your goals when you overtrain.

Course, what do I know? I'm the one with the great success, that's studied my craft.

I don't like doing squats at all, but I do them anyway because I know they work. My legs are proof of that hehe
Everything is about form though and which muscle you focus when doing an exercise. I'm always aware of my movements and which muscle I'm focusing my movement from when doing an exercise. Always be aware, don't simply push, but focus and concentrate

LOL! This is what I love about Chucky, the sheer amount of egotism that is expressed in his posts. Where is your hot or not pic that was done like 10 years ago chucky?

You're also the one who goes on incessantly about your amazing mesomorphic genes. So you were probably going to succeed regardless. icon_wink.gif

And this is a widely contested debate -- leg press vs squats -- with lots of supporting evidence on both sides. As versed as you are in the science of bodybuilding, I'm surprised you're so eager to claim universal scientific consensus on any aspect of of your craft, let alone in this specific instance. You know (probably better than anyone) that every day a new study is release invalidating the study released the day before.

But I bow to your knowledge, it's certainly more vast than mine. I just know that I didn't see lots of leg growth until I started doing heavy squats. Is that anecdotal evidence? Sure. But with all the muddled evidence out there, I have to go with what works for my body.

Maybe my initial post should have read, "Squats are the only way I ever put on real size in MY legs." But I though I was posting to an internet message board, not posting my finding to a scientific journal for peer review.
