    1) Eat balanced dinner at 8:30. Steamed veggies, chicken breast, real mashed poatoes, chocolate almond milk.

    2) Pre-run power bar.

    3) Run 8 miles at 12:00 midnight. Feel GREAT

    4) Walk in the door at 1:10. Eat two HUGE handfuls of chocolate covered pretzels. Want moar.

Does anyone else get the Endorphin High Munchies?! It's like better than pot munchies and almost as good as sex munchies! Grrrrr. Everytime, I'm on a good track until I just CRAVE junk food after a run. It tastes SO MUCH BETTER! icon_evil.gif

I know exactly how you feel.

I get the worst case of the munchies after running.

You need to snack on better things - keep enough protein bars and nuts on hand to shove in your mouth when you're craving snacks.

Just rationalize it as post-workout carbs.icon_lol.gif

Running is better than not running...who runs 8 miles at midnight....if I ran 8 miles I wouldn't really feel bad about eating "bad" - although pretzels aren't my thing.

I find that for a couple weeks after any race, I just eat everything insight. Pisses me off cause I wind up throwing on 5 lbs, and then I got to lose the again.

He's obviously got 'will' power....what he needs is "won't power"..as in "I won't eat those chocolate covered pretzels, I won't eat that cupcake...."icon_wink.gif

For myself, when I have cravings like that it's because my diet isn't properly balanced. I don't really have enough info about your diet to say for sure, but if I was craving something like a chocolate covered pretzle then i'd add some essential fatty acids to my diet and electrolyte replenishmentment post run.
