Have things gotten better for you as you got older and do you feel they will continue to get better for you?

Do you like being middle-aged? Are you happy where you are in life?

Yes, there are definitely advantages to it....it's not what I thought it would be like in my 20's or 30's ....I have work that I love...my own place....so, for me it beats my 20's by far....

Have things gotten better for you as you got older and you feel they will continue to get better for you?

Yes, they have in some ways....I'm in way better shape than in my 20's and 30's....was able to buy a house a couple of years ago...as long as I keep learning and trying new things....I believe they will continue to get better...

Do you enjoy single? Are you still in the closet or DL?

I came out in 1984....so...closet? closet? what's that?

Is it hard to be that sexy, especially with all those people pining for your touch? icon_cool.gif

I don't think of myself as sexy...I'm just a regular schmoe that decided not to be a dumpy middle aged guy...and got into shape for the first time in his life....if you do see someone "pining" for me let me know...I'm oblivious to those sorts of things

At what point did you begin living for yourself and not for the expectations/approval of others?

Do you think that there should be some protocol where one guy initiates the interaction and then asks the other out for the first time? (Top/bottom, older/younger, taller/shorter, masc/more masc., etc.)

    What do your tattoos symbolise?

Also, if you got them at an early age, do you regret it?

Do gay middle aged men have mid-life crises in similar fashion to straight/married middle aged men?

At what point did you begin living for yourself and not for the expectations/approval of others?

I'd have to say, for me, that isn't age related....I always danced to my own drummer right from the word "go"

How great was the metabolism change between now and oh, a decade ago for you?

Well, for me, it was pretty much non-existent....everyone said when I hit 30 my metabolism would slow down...it didn't...then they said, when you hit 40, it will...it didn't....kickin' 50 in the ass...still no change...always been a hard gainer...and still am..

Do you think that there should be some protocol where one guy initiates the interaction and then asks the other out for the first time? (Top/bottom, older/younger, taller/shorter, masc/more masc., etc.)

    Well, I'm basically really shy...so, if I don't get asked out...younger/older/taller/shorter/top/bottom/middle....it doesn't happen! (what can I say, I'm a wuss!)

    What do your tattoos symbolise?

Also, if you got them at an early age, do you regret it?

They don't symbolize anything, per se....but rather I view them as just body decorations ..like ear rings...or the like....I got my first at 29...and still like it...hopefully, over the next 30 years my skin won't sag too bad!

    Why are some guys creeps?

It's my belief that everyone is doing the best they can with the hand they've been dealt...a lot of people have suffered damage growing up and throughout their life...so, that can lead to "creepy" behavior

    Will you be my sugardaddy?

...if you like Reese's Peanut Butter Cups...I'm your man!

With all the Halloween candy in the stores I couldn't think of anyone else that I would enjoy pigging out on them with more. ... Do you also like chocolate covered York Peppermint patties?!

Cool! Thanks for the answer! For me, I've always liked sun tattoos, which inspired the question. I view them as a symbol of life, and how it keeps shining (staying positive) even in the dark void of space.

But I'm on the fence about getting one because I'm not sure if tattoos would portray the right image of me. I view them as art, but most people don't. My family among them. Another thing is that if the design gets messed up in any way, I'll be furious and hate myself for getting it (I'm a perfectionist, and can pick out the small details like that).

    Also...

You shouldn't be! You look great! I'm sure whoever you ask will say yes!
I'm shy too, but I don't have half your good looks!
(I hope that doesn't sound creepy)

    Middle aged guy here too.

Do you find it harder to be "accepted" among all in the gay world because of being "middle aged?" I ask this as I see pockets of age discrimination all around me.

    Thanks.

My take on it is that every one gets discriminated against for a variety of things..age, height, race, weight, hairy, not hairy, little dick...you name it...some younger guys like middle aged guys for a variety of reasons...and some don't..they see a number and that's it....doesn't faze me as that's their thing not mine..just like some guys won't date outside their race..doesn't make them racist, necessarily, it's their proclivity...just like some guys are really attracted to red heads...and some not at all...it's not about the red head...it's about the "others"

In the end, I enjoy being "accepted" by those that accept me...and smile and move on from those that don't

    does that make sense?
