I’ve noticed a trend of late. Certain folk complain of us homos who choose to conform to what they describe as a ‘Hetero-Normative’ lifestyle. To live in a monogamous relationship based upon heterosexual arrangements, to define oneself by terms used by the heteros…they find this bizarre or unrealistic.

I find myself striving to have what my parents have had for the last 40 years, a marriage of equals. I see no need to conform to another’s beliefs that such arrangements are untenable between two men but I’m curious as to your opinions on the use of such terms as Hetero-Normative.

It's a human phenominon to take things to the extreme.
People do that. Don't sweat it. I don't think your gay card will get revoked. I hope you find the man of your dreams and live happily ever after. It can and does happen.
