" the majority of conservatives in this country are not hung up on gays "

mocktwinkie, Do you think your Republican leadership might be overestimating their numbers then?

Because the tiny little ANTI GAY voice in your Republican Party........seems to have one monster of a megaphone !

Because without that minority block of evangelical anti-gay voters the GOP will lose every time. It's a sad fact but a reality. The GOP NEEDS wedge issues or it loses because democratic and liberal fiscal policies are far more conducive to the selfish wants of individuals who would rather have a handout than work for something.

This is something you need to understand.

    mocktwinkie, Thanks for The Truth:

"BECAUSE WITHOUT THAT MINORITY BLOCK OF EVANGELICAL ANTI-GAY VOTERS, THE GOP WILL LOSE EVERY TIME."

Well, that's very true. The GOP is basically a southern regional party that has used manipulated state and federal structures to have power beyond what it would actually receive in an honest vote.

Yes, America will be far better off once the GOP is gone for good.

    True.

Don't forget to highlight this part, which is the most important:

...because democratic and liberal fiscal policies are far more conducive to the selfish wants of individuals who would rather have a handout than work for something"

Basically, the way to keep true opportunity alive is for this class warfare invoked by liberals to cease. In the past we voted for opportunity regardless of how much we had or our class, now liberals want to divide us by envy and pointing to the success of others and feeling that we are somehow entitled to what we have not earned.

Two parents have a child, one says they need to work for what they earn and not complain or blame anyone, the other parent says "I'll give you whatever you want, but make me your favorite".

And WHO do you think the child is going to be more excited to stay with? The former parent has to find wedge issues for the child to be on their side, whatever that may be.

I would prefer that Republicans faced the truth of what they have become. I think mocktwinkie is being honest and I wish more of you could be.

Then I'd like to see Republicans return to focus on fiscal responsibility for government.........instead of their current joke that Gov't needs to be abolished !

Your pop psychology reveals more about you than about American politics.

The class war was started by the Right wing and has been very effective in dismantling the welfare state, lowering regulation and taxes for businesses and basically decimating everything that was great about this country.

Now that people are fighting back, the "entrepreneurs" and "job creators" are revealing themselves to be a bunch of whiny, greedy, little bitches who are crying that they may have to pay a reasonable tax rate.

Many people who vote republican DO want the focus to be fiscal responsibility for government. But if they are never able to win elections then how would any of those policies come close to potentially being implemented? I'm not excusing their bad use of wedge issues like gay rights, but in a certain sad way it has to be used to their advantage until the crazy evangelicals fade away enough for their vote not to matter.

Don't pretend that Democrats don't have their issues too.

" We (the S-Corps) are paying an insanely large amount of taxes to the Federal government."

BULLSHIT ! As is pretty obvious to those of us who have created businesses and jobs........

Southbeach, you are NOT part of the Club of "We".

UNLESS you are operating a business during the 15 minutes a day when you aren't posting on RJ.

mocktwinkie, I UNDERSTAND WHY you believe Republicans practice a Divide to Conquer Strategy.

BUT do you believe that this strategy is making us a better nation? I don't.

LOL. The truest thing that has been posted all day.

I have never met someone who owns a business, or - in fact - has a job that can spend as much time on RJ as SouthBeach.

    Yes, you haven't.

So you admit you have no job and don't own a business? Finally! Some truth!

The liberal mind is so easily confused.

No, I was affirming your statement that you "never met someone who owns a business, or - in fact - has a job that can spend as much time on RJ as SouthBeach."

Ah... dear SouthBeach. I realize that logic isn't your forte but by agreeing with my statement that no one with a job or who owns a business can spend as much time on RJ as you do, you essentially said you have neither.

It's okay. I'm sure someone from the gov't will help you in your time of need. icon_lol.gif

Do you think the (D)Party had anything to do with my distaste for the (R)Party? There are many...repeat, many...young adults out in this country who are anti-Republican and it has nothing to do with the (D)Party...it's the actions of the Republicans themselves.

I will obviously not support a candidate who in my estimation crosses a certain line in pandering to the homophobes. I have to weigh everything, not just which candidate is more or less pro-gay. I doubt not that you would still vote democrat if the reverse were true and democrats held the less gay friendly appearance as their wedge issue and republicans the more apparently pro-gay -- why? Because there's more than one issue and on a grand scale you probably agree more with "liberal" (more accurately statist) policies.

mocktwinkie, I won't vote for any party whose members can excuse their tactics of bigotry.

mock, it was you who said:

"BECAUSE WITHOUT THAT MINORITY BLOCK OF EVANGELICAL ANTI-GAY VOTERS, THE GOP WILL LOSE EVERY TIME."

BTW, I'm hardly a "statist"....and when it comes to individual liberties, you and I have much in common. I am also quite CONSERVATIVE in my beliefs regarding individual responsibility. I have created several successful businesses and have never received a single food stamp or other handout.

BUT my businesses were a success because they thrived within an infrastructure that WE ALL CREATED.....and I prospered with employees educated in public schools AND even a few home-schooled kids who used the PUBLIC LIBRARY.

Again, it's not fiscal conservatism that disturbs me......BUT THIS DOES:

"BECAUSE WITHOUT THAT MINORITY BLOCK OF EVANGELICAL ANTI-GAY VOTERS, THE GOP WILL LOSE EVERY TIME."
