So this week was the start of my journey to building muscle and gaining mass and let me tell you that it was amazingly fun yet hard lol. As yall can tell I'm light weight and new to lifting; so I decided to take upon the workouts this website has to offer. I'm gonna be posting pics of me at the end of every week to see my progress and I welcome positive and negative comments along with tips and pointers from you all. Also, I'm gonna redo week one since my gym didn't have many of the equipment so ill have to improvise. Thanks for reading this and if anyone out there has any nutrition pointers and tips, I'd love to hear. Thanks for reading :-)

Which workout are you using? I'm currently in the middle of Strong and Lean. I've had to improvise on things since I workout at home. Also, some exercises I try and find that I just don't like. Curious about your impressions and experiences.

My height is 6'3" and my weight when I started working out was 141lbs -- an even lower BMI than yours. I gain around 11lbs per year, of which very little is fat.

Some tips from a fellow skinny guy:

    - Don't ever eat too much or too little. Don't eat the wrong food. Don't eat the right food in the wrong time. Learn what and when you need to eat. Nutrition is complicated and permeates your entire lifestyle. This will be your biggest challenge. Consult a specialized nutritionist ASAP.

    - This stems from the advice above: don't ever get fat. You have a low body fat. Treasure it. Don't let envious lazy fat slobs tell you that you will never gain mass if you don't get fat. Some tiny amount of fat will be accumulated anyway but in proportion to the mass you gain. Every muscle you gain will show if you keep your bf low.

    - Learn how much weight you need to gain to look like you want. Search for guys around your height using the advanced search feature of RJ. Look for the ones with the body type you want to have. Compare their weight against yours. This will give you rough idea of how far you are from your goal.

    - Departing from the skinny guy category may take several years, even if you gain plenty of mass. You are a tall and lean guy. What are 10lbs of lean mass in a tall body like yours? Visually it's something close to nothing. 10lbs is a year worth of gains. How much can you gain per year?
