Ive been dealing with this off and on for two months now. My cell carrier blames the phone manufacturer, and the manufacturer blames the carrier. I really dont care who's to blame, I just want it fixed before the wrong person reads something that they really shouldnt.

Any of you techies have any idea what's causing this and how to fix it?

    No idea.
Is it sending them to other people in your contacts list or random strangers?

It sends them to random people on my contact list. Needless to say I have to be VERY careful what I type. icon_redface.gif

apparently it's a bug with Android , does your phone have Android?

comments on there say you could install the Handcent SMS app and use that as your default texting app, and that might help...

Just downloaded it. This seems like a cool app; thank you for bringing it to my attention. icon_smile.gif

I've had this happen with the iPhone as well. (Started a thread on here somewhere about it.) The article suggests that the android bug has to do with software mis-identifying message threads. I wonder if purging all the old message threads regularly would help?

I tried the purging trick but that didnt help either actually. Somehow, someway, they stull manage to go to random contacts. Thing is, I wont even know its been sent to them, since they arent in my history, until they text back asking what Im talking about.

I have the Handcent app now, so Im hoping that will help. If not, this thing may end up smashed by a size 14 Nike....
