Got to love Singapore's education system.

But if it makes it any better, some indicators are more important than others. At least unemployment in the US isn't worst of the worst yet...

I'm sure you weren't serious... To be this screwed must have taken years and years (2 terms to be exact), no matter how vile Bush was.

The thing is racism is not a one way street.

But I love my life in Oz, and am very happy to call Oz home. Yes I do have a quality of living many Americans will never know, yet the cost of living in America is so bloody cheap too.

Weren't you the one snickering at what you called "Bush Derangement Syndrome" a few years back?
Well, Todd, you have "Obama Derangement Syndrome" far worse than anything seen in the Bush years. You're not the only one, of course.

No, of course I wasn't serious. Just trying to get a rise out of DoomsDay because clearly he wants to place blame. I have always said, and will continue to say, that the state we are in today was decades in the making. It's far to simplistic and disingenuous to point fingers at any one President or any one political party. Lots of blame to go around. I've also said, and will continue to say, that a good amount of the blame rests on the American people themselves who have insisted on living beyond their means buying cars, homes, and other material things on credit that they simply could not afford. The chickens have come home to roost. Did Obama deliver on promises? No. Was his "Hope & Change" real? Not particularly. Is he in over his head? Probably. No, not "Obama Derangement Syndrome". I've tried to be open-minded and supportive of Obama pretty much from the moment he was elected. I'm not really sure how I will vote in 2012. If the Republican party nominates someone truly worthy, I would likely vote that way. Obama hasn't proven himself, and I'm not sure America wants to give him another 4 years to see if he does that. Time will tell.

Well, thank you! :-) I think it's important to try an be open-minded and see The Bigger Picture because there is far too much finger pointing going on and not enough problem solving.

Yeah there is a lot of micro-squabbles around here. And I realised I myself was tending towards that too after I read your post. Most refreshing!

I agree as well. But it is easier to point the finger at anyone but yourself for the issue. My question is, what effects would be created by Americans living more within their means? I mean, is this really a recession, or are we just re-setting the economy to where it was always supposed to be?
