I've listened real hard, and am pretty sure I'm not wrong, but I wanted to see if anyone else mighta picked up on this-

I don't know how many of you are Taylor Swift fans, but if you've heard the song "Picture to Burn" there's a line right at the beginning where she says "go on tell your friends that I'm obsessive and crazy, that's fine, I'll tell mine you're gay..." and I swear that's what it says in the version I have on my computer, but everytime I hear it on the radio it sounds like she's saying "go on tell your friends that I'm obsessive and crazy, that's fine, you won't mind if I say, by the way..."

I'm wondering if there was a change made, why? Would any of you all take offense to that, I didn't think it was bad, and it kind of lends credibility to a song supposedly from a heartbroken teenager.

    Like the song, though.

It is supposed to say gay, i know in Colorado, they haven't edited yet, and it still sings "go on tell your friends that I'm obsessive and crazy, that's fine, I'll tell mine you're gay..."

offense, no i haven't taken any to it. I liked the song, it's old now though. i hate how radio ruins some really good songs.

That's the original lyrics, according to this site.

It was probably decided to change it for radio later.

I hear you, Red, but since the CD player busted I'm at the mercy of my radioicon_confused.gif

It is the same way on CMT now too. The lyrics have been changed. Not sure why it was changed at such a later time after it was released.

It could be because it almost seems lately there is a push to stop using "gay" as a derogatory term. I took a class to spread consent awareness and that was one thing we talked about is trying to get people to stop using that in jokes and as a derogatory term.

Love the song and the lyrics, esp the part about being gay. If anyone takes offense, here's what a pastor recently said......."Your not going to get out of life alive, so lighten up!" BTW all channels on sirius that play the song, play the "gay" version lol
