I don't love Suburgatory, but it has its moments. I started watching cos of Alan Tudyk from Firefly and Dollhouse. He's an amazing actor (but not so great in this, sadly).
I'm a sucker for comedies and shows set in schools, so that keeps me watching. I think the lead actress is very talented, too. She looks like a young pin-up model!
And there's no laugh track! I hate those!
My only real problem with it is that they moved there because her father found condoms in her drawer, and didn't listen when she said they weren't hers. This raises two issues. First, that they are really close. So why didn't he hear her out? Second, those suburbs are filled with indecency, and his 'bff', the mother of that blonde lifeless girl, even wanted her to dress like a skank when they went shopping, which her father was fine with! So what's wrong with having condoms?! At least she wasn't going around looking like a slut! What's up with that?!
Anyway, someone here also mentioned Awkward. I love that show! I just finished watching season 1, and the twist at the end was great! I knew it would be unexpected, but that was still pretty shocking! It's surprising that it's by MTV as well. It's not as filled with 'glamorous sex' as other shows these days (which I think is a sell out, hear that, Glee?).
