This is what people from Louisiana say about how to eat crawfish.

Take note -- this technique does not scale up when you are eating a lobster.

You are talking crawfish boil my friend and it is fucken awsome. Some corn, peral oinons, baby red potatotes, and a mixture of bon caca and tony chechere spices for the boil. Role up your sleves, suck the heads and chow on the tails. Best eats from late March though May!!!!

i'm a very, VERY bad southerner. I can't stand crawfish and the smell of boiled crawfish is enough to chase me out of the park. Being from New Orleans, when i mention this people usually give me weirder looks than i get if i say "Oh, by the way i'm a raging homo!"

JakeGHK saidYou mean crawfish? You didnt specify.

Yeah. What we had was just bream and bass, but I ate the tail, so they told me about how you're supposed to eat crawfish.

Pinch the tail and suck the head is all about crawfish. When it comes to crawfish, I think sucking the head is for lack of a better term, pretty nasty gross. That is probably a bad thing to say since I'm born and raised here. Never had them until I was in my 20's - we just never ate them at home.

There's a zydeco song... can't summon up enough brain cells to locate it.

    got it:

If you wanna suck it, suck it right.
If you wanna squeeze it, squeeze it tight.
    ;)

    I wouldn't pass up a fellatio or rimming...icon_twisted.gif

But seriously, the saying is true. I usually eat crayfish, prawns, and shrimps whole.

19c79 saidHad fried fish today, and learned a new southern saying.

PS: To be clear, what we had for dinner was just bream and bass, but the phrase refers to crawfish--my Alabama friends said I'll hear it more in Louisiana.

YES!! Sucking the head is the best part!!
