I think this guy is amazing. But if I brought him home I'd feed him a cookie. I'd like him better if he were less...extreme.

Let's take for granted that his abs are beautiful. But would you like him better if he were a teensy bit less over-the-top lean?

If you look like Karen Carpenter... you're too thin.

    Another good references:

    The Olsen Twins
    Tara Reid
    Nicole Richie
    Twiggy
    Calista Flockhart

When med schools want you for anatomy lessons cuz they dont even have to cut you open.

I am not attracted to such extremes. You know he has to starve himself, like super models do, to get like that.

I'd imagine that if you dated someone like that they would know the calorie content of every item of food and drink. He is a little extreme and dare I say it, emaciated.

there are a few guys at my gym, even. this is LA so they could be involved in entertainment, but still, i feel compelled to strap them down and force-feed them pie.

it looks ok, sometimes, but it's just not worth it; we weren't built that way.

I'm sure it's taken a lot of work to look like that so I don't want to slag him off any more.

I'd be afraid of breaking him. But, I think I'd get past it.

I'd love a body like that, but I love a cookie once in a while. And a little ice cream. And M&Ms. And rice. And...

I'd tie him up and force feed him every recipe Paula Deen and Ina Garten have in print. Well, I might do other stuff to him too.icon_razz.gif

Sometimes i think really ripped guys look like insects, or lobsters.

I guess i like humans, personally, that fibrous look isn't that sexy. I think i've done it myself at one point but its not worth it.

There's something glamourous about being rail thin, but.. eh... good ol' in-shape guys take the cake...

CollegeGuy5 nailed it...it's superficially awesome, but ultimately not worth the effort. I need my cookies and Starbucks every now and then, dammit. And since I can't be that rail-thin and drop-dead gorgeous, I don't want the guy I'm dating to be, either, because I'm competitive and will start obsessing over how comparatively ginormous I am.

So no. I don't allow myself to think guys that lean are hot.

I guess there is something for everyone. If someone were not into that, it would not be on a magazine cover. I like a variety of things, but I prefer a fuller face as opposed to a gaunt one. I also prefer a guy with a little meat on his bones even if it is more "soft" than "cut"

Sometimes i watch this for inspiration, okay i've watched it over a hundred times, and yes, she's rail thin, but its so beautiful it all makes sense in her virtuosity.

I'd imagine he doesn't look like that in real life. That is probably achieved for the photo by not eating for a day and some make-up.

Okay, I guess I'm the odd man out.

    Yes, it's an extreme look.
Yes, he must deny himself half of life's earthly pleasures.
Yes, he would make me feel permanently inadequate.

    But.
    Yow, he's hot.

To me it's a matter of proportion. This guy has a slender frame and while I would definitely say that he's hot, he's a little too lean. This level of lean only looks good to me when there is more muscle mass, halfway between this level and a little less and competition bodybuilder. Sort of the Rusty Joiner - Greg Avedon range. Granted, they're more mesomorph builds as compared to this guys ectomorph build.

    ....like I should talk anyway.

The anorexic look, long popular among female models, has now eaten away at male models too:

The Genre model combines anorexia with muscularity, I guess.

That cover of Genre looks like a gay Men's Health.

The side lighting enhances the 3D effect as well.
