Anyone ever encountered an error while installing a printer that says "unable to install printer. The print processor does not exist." We have a color copier/fax/scanner/printer in our office and my boss' laptop deleted the device and now I can't reinstall it.

I usually end up looking at the support section of the printer company website for your exact printer model for your operating system. Download the latest installation software and let its "wizard" do all the hard stuff.

There are a gazillion ways for a printer install to happen with Microsoft.

Only the manufacturer knows how its all supposed to work.

    Good luck.

Have had trouble with Win7 printers on peer to peer networks, which is one of the reasons I abandoned Windows. I remember having to go into the registry to delete all aspects of the printer, and having to re-install the same network printer every 3 or 4 months. Robert's suggestion to get support from the manufacturer is a good one.

Find the manufacturer/model of the printer. Go to the manufacturer's website, and find the drivers there.
