Here's a quick trailer for my upcoming short film, "Abandoned." Shot this footage eight years ago and the story is half edited. I'll probably hire someone to replace my voice for the finished film after I get all of the dialogue down. One day late for Halloween, but maybe a big surprise for next! Enjoy this quick teaser.

If anyone is into filmmaking, I used the Glidecam 3000 to "float" up to and through the house. It's like a poor man's Steadicam. I think I shot about 20 takes of it for the full film.

    Good job icon_biggrin.gif

Never heard of the "Glidecam 3000". I actually made my own Steadicam that works better than most that don't include a cage and back harness... It's basically a 5lb weight, a few washers, a 16inch metal pipe, and 8 inch metal pipe, a wingnut, and a 1/4 inch screw. (few more pipe fittings, too. Unsure of the proper names) Works GREAT! Takes a bit of practice and trial+error to balance it. It's perfect for my DSLR.

Thanks! Yeah, the Glidecam is nothing more than a weighted rod with a ballbearing head. icon_wink.gif It can be a pain to use so it's a lot of trial and error. It may be the 1000 I used. They make better today.

That last house in the trailer, the one that's featured in the film, was quite scary. Every time I went back to film more I noticed architectural features (stair railing, doors, etc) were being stolen. I was afraid I'd run into someone...out in the middle of nowhere.

I actually filmed the house and property, then wrote a story based on what I saw. Wait till you see what was inside upstairs and out back!

Sorry I didn't respond correctly or properly to your thread. Really good trailer. With some good editing to the narration this will sound legit.icon_smile.gif

venue35 saidhmm well those houses sure look creepy. one of them looks like a face with two eyes staring at you.

Check out this one. It wasn't too far from the house the film is set at. Couldn't get inside though. Looks so much like a face.

That's just a quick, thrown together thing I did in 20 minutes. The official trailer will take some time after I get the film done. But thanks anyway.

Your response means a lot, unlike the other posters who go "um well, the houses look scary" or "mhmmm..." People who get off on being sarcastic in that way.
