Surprised no one's brought this up yet... since RJ loves their divas. icon_smile.gif

Her new album is incredible. Every song sounds epic. She's got like a 60s rock vibe going on, a little bit Janis Joplin or early Tina. But there are a few tracks that mix in some electronic... I think my favorite is "Remain Nameless."

I've discovered Florence 2 years ago with Lungs and I immediately fell in love with her.

Nonetheless, I am not yet quite sure about this album. It seems to me like every song sounds the same, and it sounds like the same old Florence. I would've liked her to try something new (and going electro is not very "new") or different, but I think she didn't push it enough.

It's good, and somebody that just found her out will love it, and I guess it will grown on me, but right now, I think it's just good.

Oh, and she surprised me so much during the Grammy's Aretha Franlin tribute. Standing next to XTina, Jennifer Hudson and Yolanda Adams, I thought she'd just dissapear and be forgotten but... wow, really Florence, you got that much in you ?! Would've liked to see more of it on the album ;)

I think that's probably me! My first introduction to Florence was the song "Kiss With a Fist" and I absolutely loathe that song. So I never got into Lungs.

Then I heard her perform that song from 127 Hours at the Academy Awards and was blown away.

This new album sounds baroque, broody, dark and goth... which is what I'm really into! I don't know how that compares to Lungs.

Oooh I see ;) Well, "Kiss With a Fist" was probably the worst song on the album, and it's kindof the blacksheep of the album as it's very different from the rest (and not in a good way); it doesn't "fit" the album.

I think you should give a second chance to Lungs, it's an amazing album. My favorites :

    - Dog Days Are Over
    - You Got the Love
    - Bird Song
    - Girl with One Eye
    - Howl
    - And pretty much every song on the album, except Kiss with a Fist ;p

Florence + The Machine fans might enjoy the voice of Beth Jeans Houghton. Debut album will be early next year.
