I didn't think much of this tip but gave it a go tonight and I've never felt a workout in my chest as much in my life.

Arnie recommends tensing your pecs for a count of 10 between each set of presses or flys. I really felt a difference.
Anyone else tried it? Does it apply elsewhere too, like glutes before dead lifts?

Yeah, I pump/tense/pose between sets. Discretely of course. icon_lol.gif

To the casual gym goer, it may seem like a narcissistic thing to do. But the idea is to keep your muscles pumped.

Someone asked what roid guys look like when they age. Did you ever see Arnold's body now- It's gross!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My guys Dad is 61 and his bod looks good still. He lifted when he was young and played football in college, now he still works out and uses a treadmil daily.

Arnold shoulda stuck with bodybuilding and acting. Those are the two things he does well.

With his genetics and "supps" he was using there really it much that's transferable.
There is even and argument against pumping too much since blood flow gets restricted, which is obviously not optimal.

If you think it works for you then i say keep doing it. It can't hurt.

I tried it yesterday during my pecs and lats workout.
Not sure if it acheived anything....but I'll keep trying it.

When Arnie says 'tensing" (not sure that's his term) does he mean flexing or like isometrics?....say pushing your palms together to work your pecs.
