    A LOT Polish Airlines Boeing 767 reg. SP-LPC operating EWR-WAW as LO0015 with 231 souls on board executed safe wheels-up landing at WAW yesterday after total gear failure. No injuries and damage to aircraft appears repairable.

    Yea he did a great job. I love in the article how they said that belly-landing an otherwise completely functional modern airliner at a major airport that is prepared for your arrival is "low on the list" of scary scenarios pilots can face.

    i hear that part of the training of commerical pilots is the nightmare Japan Air scenario where the tail blew off the aircraft.

    Two words: Kai Tak. It is amazing they never had a catastrophic WO there. One 744 (CX I believe) did go in the drink but I'm not even sure how much the runway had to do with it. This one is just a "routine" crosswind landing:

    I'm part polish but cheated. Oh you are right. I had seen it was TU-154 and thought it was Russian crew, they were Polish too. :/ Well I'm sorry and I'm glad this time it worked out better!
