Finally, a movie out of Hollywood that is worth paying for.

    “The Help”

I will be surprised if this film does not win awards all over the globe. Without the use of sex or viewed violence, it captures the mood and culture of the 60's in the south of the USA. There are several actors and actresses in this movie that I am not familiar with. Each one was wholly believable, even the ones with just a few lines which is a credit to the director.

I had already read the book several months ago so I was wary about paying to see this movie because I am usually disappointed but not in this case. Also, I usually do not cry at movies but this movie is an emotional roller coaster. I was laughing out loud at times and then tearing up at others. I was happy I had bought popcorn because I had extra tissues.

This is a movie with a real story, a movie in which you can identify with the characters and entertaining from the beginning to the end.

Loved it, but it was traumatic. Especially since those women hit close to home, reminding me of my grandmothers.

Well worth seeing, but like Precious, only watching once. Brilliant acting all around though.

Wow, everyone that responded seemed to like it a lot too. That is a good sign that it will be around a while longer. It was just released in Spain this week and since it has been raining here for days now, it was a good time to see a movie at the theatre. For once, I was happy it rained.
