Do you pay attention to zodiac signs when looking for a partner?

No, there's no evidence that astrology is accurate. It's a shame that someone might actually forego what could be a wonderful relationship because of sheer quackery.

All I know is that I definitely wouldn't want to date a person who takes Zodiac signs that seriously.

If someone reveals to me that they didn't want to date me because of my sign, then I'd consider that a dodged bullet.

    All of this!
Zodiac signs are interesting and fun to read about but that's about it.

I think astrology is fun to read about, but I don't take it too seriously. Horoscopes are the worst.

Hahaha....Fire Horse Cancer here (the worst of the worst. icon_evil.gif )

It's a 10,000 yr old survey of anecdotal observations. There is something to it. Just as the moon affects the tides, and the sun affects electronics, I think we're impacted by the magnet interference of the planets moving around.

The problem (to me) is that people only go by their sun-sign astrology....that's like trying to solve a quadratic equation with half the variables defined: those other variables could change the answer wildly.

If you know your time and place of birth, you can get your "chart" done (with all of the planets) online (for free). Most people who do that see a lot more of themselves in the reading than those just pulling their astrology from the newspaper. icon_smile.gif

There may be something to it... but how do you explain twins? I've always been a huge skeptic because my brother and I don't share many traits.

I guess I'll be the odd ball here, like usual, and say YES I do take an individuals Zodiac sign into consideration. It doesn't make or break anything because any sign can make it work if they have enough patience with each other.

No, not because I dont believe in astrological signs. but because in my experience.. people that are supposedly compatible with me can sometimes be the worst for me.... and I will get along fine with people who are supposedly compatible...

That said.. I learned to sometimes watch for the opposite of what the sign says...

That would mean genetic theory is also inaccurate though... and I still think genes are a major influence regardless.. unless you're dizygotic

...to give me pelvic inflammation? Seriously, read my horoscope. I want to know how the planets' magnetic fields affect my pelvic inflammation.

Incidentally, the age of this particular superstition should be the thing that disqualifies it from serious discussion. Ten thousand years, and you can still interchange these vague generalities (except for the pelvic inflammation) with a random stranger and be just as accurate.

Also, only a few of the planets have magnetic fields. Something the ancients could never detect, nor are the charts based upon any implied magnetism. Their presumption is A) planets/Sun/moon have maintained their orbits relative to the constellations, and B) the juxtaposition of the solar bodies relative to the constellations and a person's time of birth can predict that person's temperament and luck. No scientific study has produced any evidence that this is possible or true.

<---- Earth snake. Apparently vain but too lazy to give a fuck.

It's fun to look at, but not a deciding factor. My last partner was a Fire Tiger "rawr" (exhibited none of the traits of a tiger.)

    Snake*Tiger

Various differences will lead you apart down the road.

    apparently correct in this instance

    Precisely ! ( but far-older than a mere 10,000 years)

The 1st rule of Astrology is: "Do Not Get It From The Paper or Magazines"
That is like getting your political education from MTV; ...really, not too intelligent . . .

Now, as for twins; or even merely, Astrological-twins (much more common) there are variables in the environment; including, one's own thoughts, that can greatly skew the indicators obtained astrologically (astrology is approx. 25% of what determines destiny AND IS NOT FATALISM; unless, one is completely ignorant of it's influences, then it can be upwards of 50% determining) . Should anyone wish to seriously investigate the lives of twins (or anyone else), you need some accurate birth data: time, date, latitude & longitude, AND an Astrologer / Cosmobiologist; NOT a newspaper!

Bingo. Doug and Bill here are Taurus and Libra, and ne'er the twin should meet, lol!
As I type this, I'm remembering where our rising signs are, as well as a few other planets and wondering if there is anything to this, after all. Eeep!

..and you are indeed, love. Personal opinion: You are Cancerian, the migrant desire of Taurus, who is after all the bull and prone to meandering to enjoy what the world has to offer. Cancerians add feelings and a delightful compassion to the mix. It's been said when you grab the hand of a Cancerian you run down the beaches of emotion together, exploring as you will and always safe in the understanding compassion of your other.
