...with tucking a dress shirt in. I never wear these things but I need to for my new job tomorrow. I keep trying but after 5 seconds of subtle shifting I end up with balloon back (Where the fabric is puffed out behind me). It looks terrible and is driving me nuts, please help!

    Bump. I get that, too.

I usually just try to embrace it... the balloon back. I tuck for the best balloon back I can manage.

If I could, I would 'show' you how to 'dress' a shirt as is done in the military.. But you can't 'describe' it very well in print.

Yeah that's understandable, there was absolutely no videos on youtube at all for it either.

AMoonHawk saidI think you may be buying the wrong type of dress shirt ... there are cuts for young guys where the sides are sort of cut in like an hour glass ... I think the say taylored fit or tapered fit or young cut or fitted or something like that ... they should have a picture of the cut on the package... the cut for older guys or chunkie guys will do that ... ask the clerk they can help you with that. Also, buy cotton, not polyester.

Its called either "slim fit" or "modern fit"

I'm pretty sure I got a slim fit one, maybe not. It is cotton though.

Wear an "athletic fit" dress shirt. They taper at the waist. And wear an undershirt. It helps keep things in place too. "Blousing" a regular dress shirt works too. But you're still gonna get some puffiness.
