    Aloha...

    Long story, short...

I had started using baby oil when I was coming out of the shower. Loved the way it looked and loved the way it felt. Maybe a week goes by and my shoulders were breaking out like an animal on steroids!

Other performers who know me well would be like OH MY GOD what happened to your shoulders?! Yadda yadda....I stopped using it and it's clearing up slowly, thankfully. UGH

One of my best riends had mentioned that her boyfriend who had been taking protein powder for a long time, all of a sudden started to break out a great deal-quit it- and his skin seemed for the better.

I am just wondering if by chance, there is any relation between the two. I sort of doubt it because I've been taking it for over 2 years maybe and all of a sudden.

Moved to a new state 3 years ago and am hard pressed on finding a derm. i like, the time has come though I guess.

Thanks for any insight you have...

Your profile says you're in New York city.

I've been to one that came highly recommended to me. My only time to a dermatologist, so can't compare to others, but i was happy.
I was having some severe dry scalp issues, that they help me clear up

    They're at 35 east 35th.

you should go to Sleek New York (used to be Skinklinic) on the upper east side. They are one of those spas run by nurses so you get a lot of variety in the services they offer. Haven't been there since Skinklinic got bought out by Sleek but it is mostly stayed the same, it's AMAZING.

With the vast majority of protein powders there is absolutely no connection. However, a few are loaded with sugar and saturated fats to increase the calories counts. Some of the hard gainer formulas can have some effect this way, but there are very few of them. There are definitely other supplements like DHEA that can cause acne outbreaks so if the formula has stuff like that in it, it's possible. Most of the time though the cause of that from a supplment perspective is the prohormones/designer steroids and of course steroids themselves that cause acne.

I guarantee you in your case the baby oil is doing it. Lot of different hand lotions, body lotions, oils, etc., will do that. If you must use something, try a facial moisturizer they are lighter and won't clog pores.

    Thanks to all of you...

I live in NJ (central nj) now, sorry about that, I gather I should update that.

Spas make me feel like I'm going to be spending soooo much money, which I don't really want to do though if that's whjat it boils down to at the end then so be it I guess.

I use isopure low carb...I was thinking of maybe switching but realized that it most likely is not what I"m drinking and if anything at all just sweating like a monster and having to wait for wreck that was caused from the babyoil to clear up.

I can't reach my entire back so the baby oil really just made my shoulders look like a monster, other than that, I cannot explain what the sudden breakout is on the other small areas of my back, I loathe it!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks again, glad to hear I may not have to ditch my isolates.

    One love, rock on...

Keep in mind acne is not necessarily a topical issue, the
"acne" causing agent is found in the blood system which means different people will react differently to different foods with their skin, however seeing a Dermatologist never hurts! I've been seeing one since I was 12!!

Agreed there are many factors which lead into it, absolutely.

I just am stumped because I have not done anything different, and have not been the same since the babyoil though i';ve ben scrubbing and washing the shit (I know ive flared up a bit from that too but it's hard to resist cleaning it and scrubbing it so much, lol)

So, I started today to lay off thr scrubbing and overcleaning my shoulders (and I can never get my back done so, not sure what the excuse is there!!!!!!!!!!) so I hope that will help a little.

Ughhhh, will keep ya posted. Hope to catch the same doc or have her suggest someone more locally.
