When growing up, were you told by your parents or family that being gay was a bad thing? I certainly was and wonder how much has changed these days with the younger guys.

P.S. I'd like to hear from guys of all ages.

I'm 27. Yes I was told by my parents that being gay was a bad thing.

In my case, it might have been a cultural thing.

Nowadays we don't talk about it.

Still hear it at times, though they've become significantly more understanding.

    21. I have been told that its a bad thing, maybe not explicitly, but there's the occasional "please don't be gay" mindset. I definitely do agree it's a cultural thing. Old-fashioned conservatism, I guess.
