I have to ask...what's with the Nickelback hate?

Did I miss something? I read that some of the Detroit Lions fans are protesting the selection of Nickelback for the halftime show on Thanksgiving Day. Is there any particular reason this band has suddenly become so hated?

I'm not a fan, but I've liked a few of their songs.

I dunno. They've always been the butt of jokes on the internet. I think it's because their music is so blah and forgettable. Yet, they somehow managed to release a couple of big hits. I had no idea they were still together, until I heard about this story recently. I don't exactly hate Nickelback, but come on.. there's a lot of money in football. And all they could do was book this band?

I think that it has to do with their song "Hero" from Spider-Man. Like most blockbusters, the main song gets played out. It is just like Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" from Titanic.

LOL. I just checked Wikipedia. Didn't realize they were a Canadian band. Well, that might be the reason for the hate. Detroit pride ain't havin' none of that. Only a band/musician from Detroit will suffice. icon_lol.gif

Nickleback is responsible for some of the worst music I've ever suffered.
