For some time I have the impression that people don't know how to buy their perfumes anymore. They go shopping for the brand not for the fragrance. Most perfumes made these days are shitty despite their price.

Is this directly related to my choice in fragrance or is this just in general?

Just in general. Maybe this perfume fits you...

I got a Lacoste Essential as a gift from my brother and it smells like a regular after shave.

I have a few fragrances but I always have one that I wear most.

When I was 16 it was Polo Black.

When I was 19 it was John Varvatos Classic.

When I was 21 it was Armani Code.

    This summer I discovered Beckham's.

Do they make a cologne that smells like desert rain? Like Sonoran Desert rain more specifically...

I'd wear that shit all the time.

As of now I probably smell like slight natural body odor, and sometimes like unscented deodorant. Scented deodorant if I'm going somewhere fancy...

I also have Thierry Mugler's Amen:

but it's quite spicy for my taste; I prefer cooler, muskier fragrances.

Whenever I need a new cologne I go to Holt Renfrew's and ask the experts what they would recommend.
I can't remember what the American equivalent is, but it's a department store with super expensive designer everything.

I don't want whatever they recommend. I want the very specific smell my region gets when it is about to rain, or has just rained... It's amazing.

I don't wear cologne, but I do love the smell of some colognes on mah man after we've gone out, the stale smell after it's mixed with salts of the body, and with the environment. Otherwise, too chemically up close and personal.

Too many products and I'm reminded of one of the myriad of reasons I am not with a girl: licking chemicals off of someone is NOT hot.

Wow, I after my second paragraph there, the only cologne I would like would turn me into a lustful serial killer from France. If you guys haven't seen this movie, watch it NOW!!!

"The soul of beings is their scent"
I love to smell my man's natural pheromones above bottled scents (Not stale sweat or stink either... don't get it twisted )

Well then make your own fragrance~

Cologne definitely needs to settle before you get up close and personal, and only one or two spritzes is enough. People who drown themselves in cologne smell almost as nasty as someone going without deodorant.

Cocoa_Shea-Cream.jpg Which smells so good one is literally tempted to taste it, even though one knows it isn't in the least bit edible.

A few times a week I give myself a honey facial/hair conditioning, leaving a pleasant light sweet smell
    raw-honey.jpg

Also, if i'm going out somewhere special, I will add a few squirts of:

    sean-john-unforgivable-men-eau-toilette- Hot as fuck.

    All three together= olfactory nirvana.

The cologne contains a very small concentration of essential oils. Two sprizes are not enough.

Depending on the day or occasion. . .
    Bleu de Chanel
I actually bought this one based on the way it smelled in one of those magazine tabs, haha. . .I didn't actually smell it in the store which was a mistake because it ended up smelling way different
    p107450large.jpg

or Le Bateleur from the Dolce and Gabbana anthology collection (this is probably my favorite scent, ever - I feel like it's classy but also not as stuffy as the Chanel scent and definitely a little more casual and wearable - the Chanel is a date cologne, haha)
