What are you favourite beaches in the world?

Here are a few of mine:

Pu'u Olai (aka Little Makena; Little Beach), Maui, USA

    Lady Bay Beach, Sydney, Australia

    Wreck Beach, Vancouver, BC, Canada

    British-Columbia-is-home-to-Wreck-Beach-wreck_1.jpg

I just realized these three have the following in common (although this is not a request for clothing optional beaches only)

I like Rehoboth Beach in Delaware and Nauset Beach on Cape Cod. I also love beaches around Naples, Florida.

    1) BORACAY, PHILIPPINES

Palm-fringed shorelines, powdery white sand beaches, crystal clear emerald water, spectacular sunsets, wide range of international cuisine, and a plethora of activities

    2) SITGES, SPAIN

Amazing architecture. It's so beautiful and it's so gay. It's one of the few places where you'd feel it's totally okay to be gay. Plus the men are really hot!

The Baths Virgin Gorda is the most beautiful beach I've been too. Walk through caves and beautiful coral sand beaches and turquoise water.

Long Beach - Centerville, Cape Cod. The only way to get there is to walk, so the farther you walk, the less crowded it is!

    Dowses in Osterville too...

    Basically cape cod beaches. y'all.

Jeez, I certainly haven't been to a significant proportion of the beaches of the world. Probably no more than a couple of hundred. However, if you would like to fund a travel grant, I'd be happy to undertake an extensive survey.

How can I add a jpeg of a beach location. Can't figure it out. Google images aren't usually direct to a photo page.

I'm not really a sun person, but I do have the fantasy of a short vacation on a private island someplace tropical, with lots of shade handy.

I hope no one picks this place......

Yeah, it's Daytona Beach, Florida. Not to be confused at all with the beautiful beaches found elsewhere on the planet.... (watch...I'll get an e-mail from someone in that area...)

    Ostende, Belgium

You can't truly understand just how beautiful this beach is until you visit it during the late fall or early winter when the sky is gray and cloudy, the wind is strong, and the scarf wrapped around your neck is blowing in the wind. I can't wait to go back next year.

This is a very poetic, somber beach; a beauty that simply can't be captured by warm-weather beaches although I have NOTHING against those warm, clear blue water beaches.

    Sao Tome and Principe

This country (2nd smallest of Africa), composed of 2 tiny islands, has the most beautiful desert islands in the world.

Lived and worked there for 2 years, it's a paradise on earth.

CAPE Town (Musenberg), Rio (Ipanema), Hawaii (Waikiki). They're all crowded, but GREAT for watching the talent!

I also love the beaches at Yucatan (no not the big report boring beaches like Cancun, but further south), in SianKaan bio reserve.

Also some nice ones at Belieze.

Meh. Been to Bondi, Aman resorts Bali, South Beach, Sitges, Tamorama,
Côte d'Azur, Key West, Malibu, Kitsalano, Ogunquit, Algarve, the Lido ... but,
for me, nothing beats the secluded lakeshores at friends' retreats. Much cooler.
