Not that Cain was ever a serious candidate, but I think he's done now.
The latest allegation sounded more like sexual assault to me than harassment. What she described was definitely illegal.
The whole story is creepy and disturbing.

Maybe he could save himself by coming clean and admitting everything and claim he had a drinking problem that has since been treated... or maybe not.

He could have made this easy for himself, but he choose not to. Now he has to deal with the consequences of his inaction.

well I would contrast with the "Clinton defense".
Of course it didn't happen as the mainstream news wont cover it.

If Clinton is the standard I am struggling to see the problem here, no criminal charges were filed.

Its certainly convenient to come out 14 years later with a accusation. Its possible it did happen but we can only speculate.

What won't the mainstream media cover?

BTW, it's coming to light that Cain's peccadilloes were well-known in conservative circles and he was warned that if he ran for president, the women would come forward. But since his entire campaign is a glorified book tour and he's running for higher speaking fees (and not president), he pressed on. Now, he's made a fool of himself internationally. icon_lol.gif

Well it is a shame Gloria Alred didnt step forward to represent Monica Lewinsky , Kathleen Whiley, or Jaunita Broderick.

Cain may have been swayed by the popular liberal montra " Clinton lied about sex" so maybe he thought he had a pass? Because the media gave Clinton a pass

Agreed. He was never going to get the nomination anyway, but his campaign is as good as DOA now that this 4th woman has come forth. Sadly, it doesn't matter if it's true or not. The seed of doubt has been planted, that's all it takes, and his campaign is going down in flames.

How long until he publicly steps out of the race? He clearly has no chance at the GOP presidential nomination.

Initially I gave him some real credibility, but as I have listened and watched, I realize he has no business in this arena.

Btw, a fifth woman has now come forward....

What I find ironic with all of this is that this happened in the late 90s and what not and regardless is well beyond any statue of limitations for a sexual harassment claim. Strange that no one seems to be bringing that to light.

Sexual harassment claims are usually civil and I'm not sure that there is a statute of limitations. In any event, this is really an issue of character.

Cain is not right for the job. He hasn't enough experience and if any of these allegations are true, it goes right to his character. Anyone who can't keep his zipper up and be faithful to his wife and family has no place in the highest office.......since he is "preoccupied" to say the least - in his other activities.

With that being said however - I just watched Gloria Allred and one of the women accusing Cain, on the Today Show while having breakfast. I have to say this - - the woman looked and sounded insincere. The way she showed her tits (all pushed up and out in a tight, hot pink outfit) and the way she read Gloria's (I mean her) statement. (Why is Gloria Allred always looking for more television coverage?) Why do these "victims" come forward after all these years? Why didn't they tell anyone about these alleged attacks before? And what about the book deal to augment her financial situation (two bankruptcies). Something doesn't pass the smell test here.

Message to Cain: We may or may not believe all these women. But the fact remains sir, you are not the ideal candidate. We're already suffered through a few years of a president without enough experience.

The problem with Herman Cain, likable as he can be, is that he started believing the HYPE that he could actually get the nomination, while most people with any sense was reasonably certain that he simply was not the man we need for the job at this point in time. That said, I think his own ego will likely keep him from reading the writing on the wall and stepping down. I suspect that results in the first key state primaries will be the rude wakening he will need to face the cold hard reality that POTUS is not in his future. Sadly, regardless if these allegations are true or not, this will likely disqualify Herman Cain for any chance of a V.P. nod as well.
