From the 80's, I miss learning to walk, sucking my thumb and practicing the words "maman" and "papa"

I miss Duran Duran as well. I miss MTV and the whole new wave music scene. What I miss the most is the happy-go lucky times I had during the 80s...those were the best!

    1. Music videos that were like mini movies starring your favorite music stars.
    2. Good network tv sitcoms.
    3. Teen movies with sass instead of smarm: Fast Times/Breakfast Club/Lost Boys/Heathers/etc
    4. Kasey Kasum and Rick Dees instead of Ryan Seacrest.
    5. Music (singles, albums) didn't leak. You had to wait until release day.

In retrospect, I sorta miss my hair a bit. But not all that much.

The movies back then were way cooler. It was when special effects were coming in full blast. . . but they still didn't take the place of a great story and great characters. For lots of 80s movies (even the cheesy ones) you had all three.

Now you have lots of movies that are CG effects, period, but with a boring story and boring characters (with some exceptions, of course).

Yeah, I remember him. . . he really had an amazing body

I saw him at the movies with a straight friend who got really excited when this guy was on screen and couldn't stop talking about him icon_biggrin.gif

    +1

Not to worry though. Lakeland was culturally lagging in the 70's during the 80's, so I got to live it in the 90's. We're just now caught up to 1998.

    Edit:

    Squeeeee!

Music (classic metal & new wave)

    Television shows

Horror films that used awesome practical effects vs. The crappy cgi effects of today!
