Suetonius said I would not agree that Obama has publically showed disrespect for Netanyahu (who, after all, got to speak to Congress, which honor is accorded few foreigners).
That has nothing to do with Obama. The Congressional leadership decides whether or not to invite a leader from another nation to speak.
The invitation came from Cantor, after he told Netanyahu that he and congress would make sure that Israels interests would not be undermined by the Obama administration. (a Paraphrase)
This action of a congressman/the congress, is a direct undermining of the Presidents Foreign Policy iniciatives, Cantors actions are pretty well unheard of.
The 'honoring' of Netanyahu by the subservient congress to the Israeli Lobby AIPAC's influence and affilliates money for their election campaigns is a shame and points to subservience to US interests to another states Intersests.
Which groups approval are more sought out that the Israeli Lobby's ? Their influence is unprecidented and dangerous when it leads to war. there is no way their influence can be ignored in light of 41 AIPAC/PNAC, Israeli Dual Citizens out of Bush's 54 member administration cannot be considered anything other than another state influencing our government to a war that was in their interest and not the US interest, it is dangerous and costly to the US influence in the Middle East and around the world in general.
Has anything close to this ever occured in US history ? What would the reaction be if this many Russians or Chinese were in an administration ? The only reason this has been acceptable is because of the near constant propaganda against any Israeli criticism as being Antisemitic and AIPAC and its affiliates constant lobbying and its money and other influence on elections campaigns.
Read George Washingtons warning about favoritism to one state over another and the danger it poses to US interests. It totally fits this Israeli interference in US Policy.
