Christian73 saidGingrich is as homophobic as Perry and Romney, while less vitriolic, support the same policies (reinstate DADT, no gay marriage, etc.).
My idiot uncle's second wife (now deceased) was a pillar of the Republican establishment in Georgia, and a close personal friend of Newt's. She was also very fond of me, since I was the only one in the family who was nice to her when she married my uncle (insert long boring story here).
She invited my then-bf and me to come visit them in Atlanta, back in 1995, and said that she would have the Gingriches over to dinner so we could meet them. "You''ll love them," she gushed at me.
I pointed to my boyfriend, of whom she was also fond, and said, "Newt doesn't like people like us, I'm afraid."
"Oh, don't be silly," she said dismissively. "Newt loves gay people. He just has to say that stuff to get elected."
"Ah, that makes all the difference," I said, though my tone was lost on her. "No thanks, I believe we'll pass."
My sentiments exactly.
Cowardice enables these sociopaths to move about freely without fear of confrontation. Do gays who get harassed, beaten, killed, Civil Rights denied, or teens who get bullied from all sides, until they take their own lives....count for less than a slimy demagogue, surrounded by a small gaggle of social climbers?"Just having to say that stuff"
has a tragic cost to humanity...and for what benefit???....so Newt can call himself a leader...a congressman...an intellectual? And then there is the spectacle of JP's aunt associating with such human trash...lying about believing the lie, told to explain the lie, that is told to keep the public believing anti-gay lies....which are all too often acted upon.
If you're too chicken to expose lies and tell it like it is when a perfect opportunity arises....then "Disgusting display of humanity and cowardice"
is spot on accurate...and at best, you'll go to your grave having led an inconsequential life.
