Just out of curiosity, when you guys say you are going for a run, how many miles do you usually run?

5-6 miles for me, outdoors mostly during nice weather. I never run on a treadmill. The best run I had recently was getting caught in a torrential downpour. We had several inches of rain in a short period of time, sidewalks were swamped, it was crazy. I ended up soaked but it was an exhilarating experience.

I have a route that's about 5K that I mapped out. I generally do that unless I feel really energetic.

Just 11 weeks out of a partial meniscectomy, but getting back slowly... so far, built up to 2 miles... cannot wait to be back to normal and pain free. Would like to be at 5 miles non-stop within the next month.

Trollileo saidI like to do 6. I'll occasionally do 9.

Dude! That's insane! The most I do is 5 miles in a day. I should be ashamed of myself

Between 7 and 14 but don't run every day. On some days, I run to the gym and back so that's only a bit more than three, round trip.

    Zero.

I fucking hate running for any distance, though I did fairly good (and apparently still can) as a sprinter.

I mix it up. A long run - 8 - 20 miles, a tempo run 4-8 miles and a speed run 1-3 miles each week. The distances vary based on my training schedule.

Generally 4-5 miles 3x week. (If I'm training for a Half, longer runs on the weekends.) Coming up, I have a 4 miler Thanksgiving Day race and a 5K Holiday race.

I run outside year round so during January and February, I can drop to 2x week depending on wind chill and snow storms. icon_twisted.gif

I was running 7-8 miles three times a week. I'm cutting back now to focus more on weight training.

If I tell someone that I'm "going for a run", it's usually between 3 to 6 miles. If I'm gonna run more than that, I'll plan it out more carefully, and say so.

Usually about 4 miles 3X a week, with the remaining 2 days of weight training. On the weekend, usually 6-8 miles it depends.

I usually go on times rather than distance; about eighty or ninety minutes a run.
This means about anywhere from twelve to fourteen miles.

When I run on my own I like to do sprints so..maybe a bit under 2 miles. As a workgroup we go anywhere from 3-5 at a pace of about 8min mile.

I now only do 3 miles a day, however I do Interval training it gets the results I want. My base mileage used to be 8 miles a day but thats because I just like to run.
