Inspired by the thread about some guy's failure of a boyfriend forgetting his birthday.

What are some really nice gifts your boyfriend/hubby have given you for your birthday/Christmas/Hanukkah/whatever?

If you are single or have been forever single, what's the best gift you've ever recieved?

My boyfriend took me to see Sia live when she was in Toronto in July for my birthday. He bought the tickets on my birthday. emoticon-0152-heart.png

The bonuses of dating people - keeping expensive shit they give you when you break up.
One of my exes let me borrow his tablet and then basically cheated on me so when he was like "uh erm um can i have my tablet back?" I was like LOL NOPE.

...but then I lost the pen, so karma's a bitch I guess.

Almost one year ago exactly, the guy I was seeing at the time made me a really elaborate, delicious three course meal (which had taken him all day to prepare), candelit, champagne on flow and he bought me a a Plato book (Lysis, Symposium, Gorgias), and a beautiful leather diary (the latter being an inside joke to my time-keeping lol)....

That has been the most personal and memorable collective-gift I've received from somebody I was seeing. Not that there have been many.

The only other bday prezzie i've recieved, due to my lack of many substantial relationships, was a wooly t-cosy hat from a fb a few years back, LOL, fml.

Ah nooooooooooo! icon_eek.gif, aw, well i'm sure you've since made it up to him tenfold.

Sidenote: I do love those style of hats, they pretty much look good on anybody, especially when hair is too messy to be shown in public (which is me quite often, when i'm too lazy to make the trip to the barbers).

I feel like I SHOULD say a custom made gold ring wiht diamond studs all around it or a Baume & Mercier watch, but the first thing that came to mind was surprise tickets to see Colbie Caillat, especially cause he wasn't a fan.

They knew I like to eat.

Your new nose doesn't look any better and those Trump checks will run out soon enough when you get robbed in broad daylight while you scream dramatically and onlookers will just think you're recreating what goes on when you see Greg naked.

    Who gon' check me boo?

Earlier this year my boyfriend got me three different pairs of really nice underwear from 2(x)ist, which I still have even though the underwear weirdly have bad memories on them haha.

But apart from that, at the same time he took me on vacation to Pensacola Beach where his friend had a house right on the beach. We stayed a few days, drinking and hanging out in the sun and riding old-timey bikes down the strip, building sand castles... and at night we'd go walk along the shore under the moonlight and talk about our lives together.

One of the only birthdays I actually remember.

I did what i called an "Appreciation Jar". I made a clever label with that name on it, and stuck it on a really large, cool glass jar. Every day i'd write on colored sticky notes one thing my spouse did for me that day for which I was appreciative. I'd fold up the note and drop it in the jar. I did this for one year. The deal was no peeking. It was one of the best gifts given from my perspective; a real hit. Who doesn't like being told they're appreciated? We all like it from time to time.

What a cool idea. I feel like having them all put in an album at the end of the year would be a great keepsake. icon_smile.gif

Here's another one: my wife doesn't like me spending money on fresh-cut flowers. I guess we both see it as a waste of money, but that's our perspective, and I do like giving her fresh flowers sometimes. For mother's day one year I bought a bunch of colored tissue paper and all the stuff needed to make paper flowers, and using a book I bought that had lots of ideas and instructions for making paper flowers, my kids and me made a huge bouquet of "flowers". That's one bunch of flowers that's still around, lol.
