I want to buy a kendle (sp) type devise for someone for Christmas. They do a lot of reading and I thought this would be a good gift. I don't need to buy an Ibook etc they already have a good laptop, just something that down loads books, articles etc and has a large enough screen to make reading easy and one can carry it around without a problem.

I am a reader, a heavy reader. The public Library is my second home.

I personally do not like the idea of the electronic book. To me its just an alien concept that doesn't 'feel' right (emotionally).

I have found that 'gift giving' becomes easier if you drill, er I mean, question the potential recipient. Ask them what they think of the technology to get an idea of their personal take on the whole thing.

You do not have to be obvious and say 'Hey, I'm thinking about buying you a kindle', just move the subject to books, and reading in general, then say something like 'What do you think about ebooks?'
