A big disappointment coming off of last season. The pace is moving so slow. The character development is agonizing and I am not even sure that they are doing a good job with that. I do not care for most of these characters as they all have some sort of annoying quirk about them. They have spent 4 episodes basically in the same area and that girl Sophia has been missing, hint....resolve it already and move on. I realize that the show is more about human interaction than killing Zombies but geez there really has been no movement in storyline yet halfway through the season. Now compare this to what is probably the best show on tv right now American Horror Story and how much stuff they are throwing in each episode as they move the characters along.

The highlight this year is a slimmed down and buffer Shane and the best thing was the revelation that he shot Otis

Last year they had 6 episodes. This year they'll have 13 episodes, so they're just stretching it out.

I think it's naturally that the show a little slower because they've sort of committed to the characters. It's not like the first season where they start with tons of people and can just kill them off without anyone knowing who's next.

Daryl's my favorite though, o they better keep him alive.

My buddy said that their budget was cut, so they have to cut on special effects, which may make for boring shows. This happened in Battlestar Galactica and we got 'The Woman King' episode, ughh. I'm still gonna watch it though.

I actually like this season a lot. The first episode was a little slow but since then I think it's been picking up. I don't like American Horror Story.

I somewhat agree. Last season was so much action and so fast-paced, I never even got to know the characters' names. This season, I feel like I'm getting to know the characters, but the action has slowed down considerably. They haven't found that perfect balance yet.

I just wish they hadn't left Atlanta.

Really? I feel that pace is just right. Yea... maybe some parts are a little draggy and slow but there's always that feeling of anticipation not knowing if they're gonna be attacked by a horde at that moment. icon_biggrin.gif

They showed in the preview for next week that Daryl gets thrown from his horse, falls down a hill and gets stuck with one of his arrows. Even though his character is not in the comic, he's popular and I expect (hope) he'll be fine.

Lots of gaping holes in the plot/writing this season, but I still really like it. I expect more action will be coming soon. The missing girl storyline is definitely dragging on too long and needs to be wrapped up. I hope they have to leave the farm soon and get into more situations where they are in peril. Although the high school scenes were fantastic.

American Horror Story is worth watching just for Jessica Lange's performance.

I guess I was just anticpating more of the same from last year rather than a slowed down process.

Still we got to see some of Shane..Jon Bernthal's body so I said before thats great

Oh yeah and not to turn it into an American Horror Story thread but Jessica Lange has to be a shoo in for an Emmy for best supporting actress

Boardwalk Empire has the same problem too.
Walking dead has less of an excuse since the basic story was created a while ago in the comic.

On the bright side this past season of breaking bad started out slow too and it ended up being amazing.
