I've been bulking up for the past month and a half.. gaining size.. I also don't always eat the cleanest diet in the winter months. Nothing over 20% body fat. I always get more attention when I cut down. I also think I should take guys that show interest in me when I bulk more seriously. Am I right in thinking this way? Should I be using a bulk as a shit test? and would you guys be interested in a guy that bulks dirty?

It depends how dirty LOL. I do go much for the bulking and cutting myself, I try to just mix up my routine if I feel I am plateauing.

But I totally get your point, when I'm in my best shape I get a lot more attention in clubs and bars compared to when I've been a bit lax in my routine. Whenever you meet somebody when you're in really great shape you always wonder if it is your personality they like or just your body. But the truth is you can meet shitty guys at any weight, wherever you're at just make sure you pick up on other hints and ques to make sure a guy is really interested.

    I prefer muscly-fat type guys. Some would say 'muscle-bear' I suppose. icon_question.gif

I think a good way to explain it: there was (might still be I rarely watch TV anymore) the 'Worlds strongest Man'. Most of them were thick, bulky but not body builders with near 0% body fat and veins sticking out all over. They have muscle, but its under a layer of flesh, so they have more mass, but far less definition.

The highly cut, 0% body fat looks more unnatural than a guy who has muscle under a nominal layer of fat. At least to me.

    This body:

    true-natural-bodybuilder-front-big.jpeg

is more appealing than this body.
    bodybuilding4.jpg

This personal preference is 'hard won' I had a near 5 year relationship with a guy who wanted to look like the Incredible Hulk sans the green skin. He was heavy into the 'cut and definition' and pretty much turned out to be pretty much an a-hole. He ended up talking with his fists, unfortunately he liked to talk a lot.

Due to him, I see lots of cut and definition and I immediately think back to the days when I was with that guy. I connect his personality with the body.

BTW bodybuilders who compete often gain a lot of 'fat' off season. They do highly strict diets to shave off all the sub-dermal fat in order to be on stage.

Arnold was around 235# for competing, off season he was on average 260-265 That's 25-30 pounds of fat. Others have even more distance, around 50 pounds.

Fat does play many crucial rolls and should not be ignored. Even intramuscular fat (that which gives red meat its marbled appearance) also plays a roll in over all muscle health.

Absolutely not. Before going on any date I require a micro-detailed breakdown of the guy's caloric intake. Fast-metabolized simple carbohydrates = Kick the guy to the curb!!

I agree, my ideal guy is more the ruby player build....strong, athletic, big but still a little soft to the touch...much nicer to cuddle up with!

How dirty are you talking about?

Have you switched from brown rice and bananas to nothing but wonderbread and Doritos?

Bulk up dirty.. Never heard it phrased this way. Lay down some beats, and it can be a rap song. icon_lol.gif

But to answer the core question.. Yes, I would date a beefy guy as much as I would date a lean/ripped guy.

depends, some care has to be taken with diet even in the bulking period, but yeah a guy that understands what bulking and cutting REALLY is, and not just someone that says "oh I'm bulking" turns me on automatically, by default icon_smile.gif

I would. In fact, I think I prefer it. Allowing yourself to enjoy "dirty" foods while bulking is a portion of the fun. And it doesn't sound like you're going very dirty at all. 20%? You're still practically clean.

ooohhhhh ok I get it. Wow, only gay guys could make something out of nothing. anyhow, you have already heard my take on whether i would i would date a guy who is bulking up. however, i really never have a bulking up phase because i usually still eat healthy for the most part. the weekends is usually when i eat bad and that's just on friday and sunday. hell its football and college basketball season.

It's hard to say, but a guy that loves you will love you for you as long as you take care of yourself. I know a lot of people who are into a lot of different body types. You'll find someone eventually.

Lol.. I forgot about this thread.. I'm talking about eating a less structured diet while gaining size. I try not to get too out of hand with it. But yeah.. around this time of year I let myself have fast food.. junk food.. enjoy it for a while. I find I get better gains this way.

Not really.. i see your point though. I know some big guys who put on, what looked to be 30 or 40 lbs of fat. I'm around 20% now.. I wouldn't call that clean.. went up a waist size in the past month.. don't have abs.. ate half a box of doughnuts yesterday.. lol Prob time to call it quits though.

Maybe you can bulk up "dirty", as you say, and then take this drug that is always advertised on this site lately (irrespective of your HIV status):

EGRIFTA® is an injectable prescription medicine to reduce the excess in abdominal fat in HIV-infected patients with lipodystrophy. EGRIFTA® contains a growth hormone-releasing factor (GRF).

    Now THAT is playing DIRTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!icon_twisted.gif
