About a year ago I stopped wearing deodorant/anti-perspirant. Once I stopped using it, I no longer had red marks or irritation under my pits. And I've discovered I now prefer to be deodorant-free (my boyfriend loves it too -- natural man scent icon_biggrin.gif

Just curious who else goes deodorant-free (and why)? Also, on a guy you're attracted to, do you prefer his natural scent without deodorant? (I sure do! icon_biggrin.gif )

Im sure youll get a lot of ignorant ass comments from people not knowing that a large number of men dont wear deodorant or bathe daily. I know several guys with severely sensitive skin that choose not to wear it, or use soap when they shower, and they smell just fine.

Its not for me (I smell worse than boodissy if I go without) but Ive been with enough that choose not to use to know it can be manly and sexy on some dudes.

If you just get deodorant without antiperspirant, it won't irritate you.

I actually like the feeling of not having any "gunk" under my arm pits, so nowadays even if that didn't irritate my pits, I'd still prefer to go without putting on antiperspirant or deodorant. But thanks for the suggestion icon_smile.gif

If I go a day without I get paranoid and can smell BO. My husband on the other hand uses some organic hippie concoction of cotton and lesbian seeds and which works great for him. I think it depends on your body chemistry, what bacteria are attracted to that chemistry and your level of tolerance.

What the fuck? If it feels like "gunk" for longer than 2 minutes you're wearing the wrong shit.

I wear old spice and put it on after my shower, and when my body is dry I don't feel anything under my armpits.

I don't know about deodorant free...but I am a fragrance free person in most cases.

My laundry detergent has to be clear and no fabric softner, ick! not only does it smell bad, but I can get a rash just smelling it out at the bar or walking around the neighborhood.

I do like certain subtle scents (read cologne) but wearing it myself is head ache inducing.

Have u ever tried "Dry Idea"? It's somewhat unknown since they don't advertise (at least here they don't" but its a roll-on that does an excellent job on my and my dads sensitive skin. Your beau may enjoy the "natural man scent" but I guarantee people around you and coworkers do not. The sweaty post-workout smell can be hot but going daily without deoderant/antipersp. Is not recommended.

I prefer to smell the man.

Although Sunday, a guy started running 8 minute miles on the treadmill with gum/dental/breath issues so bad I had to end my run early. Then, someone did something to one of the apartment elevators today (spilled soap? Cologne bottle exploded? What???) that had me taking the stairs after one floor.

I couldn't breathe in either case.

Give me a clean sweaty musky man any day...

But plain deodorant lets me smell like a dirty gym locker. No thanks. Some of us need that stuff, because as the saying goes, people think their own shit don't stink. Well, surprise, you stink to everyone else. And if you come up to me reeking I'm gonna let you know it. icon_razz.gif

Er, no. I actually reduce body odors by bathing occasionally and changing clothes.

Sometimes I have to get out of line at the grocery store or the bank, because everybody's commercial stenches make my eyes water.

some people love it. some people get grossed out. Always a tough subject. I like natural musk but on the right guys. Don't want to smell it on a Pakistani traveller on an airplane for example. But on someone like Matt Hughes, sweet smell of sweat and muscles, yum. I personally am jealous because no matter what I do, I don't sweat much. I don't have the same pores. Probably a good thing though.

Some people just unfortunately smell like ass at some point of the day. Do they have national advertising campaigns for ass spray? Why not?

Nope, no deodorant, soap, face-wash, etc. Only thing is shampoo once or twice a week.
