So Madonna has said in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar Magazine that she used to be bullied when she was in high school. Yet the hoe never mentioned this in the last 30 years of her career? Trying to follow the I'm-a-survivor-trend? I think so.

I have never liked Madonna as a person, she's evil. And she likes to lie and steal a lot. In her last Ellen interview she said she never fit in with the scholars or beauty queens/jocks. I find that very hard to believe considering she did everything she could to become one of the most prominent sex-symbols of the 80's and is reported to be a bitch with an IQ of 140. Scholar worthy intelligence if you ask me.

She's always been a trend-follower and a swagger-stealer so none of her new shenanigans surprises me.

Here's a sassy take on the ex-Queen of Pop's interview lol:

I agree. And maybe Lady GAGA is suspicious, too.

But at least Gaga's show is special enough to catch people'e eye sight, while Madonna have to make up some stories without any new famous songs as before.

    Cheers

WOW! Did you just say Madonna was a trend-follower and a stealer?

If anything she has been a trend setter and people copied her (LADY GAGA). So she decides to tell her story of when she was bullied when she lived and grew up in Michigan in high school. Big deal. She's already done and said it before in her books and her movie. Journalists and kids of the late 80's and early 90's should really do their homework.

True and as annoying as gaga gets with this bullying thing, she has gone out of her way to try and put a stop to it.

Madonna has never once ever mentioned severe bullying as part of the reason she is as overtly sexual. And this whole thing about not shaving her pits is so stupid. I mean she’s the reason so many pop-stars rely so heavily on sex-appeal. I.e. Britney Spears, Katy Perry and Rihanna.

    This.

I'm a huge Gaga fan... but come the fuck on! Gaga owes her career to Madonna and Grace Jones. They paved the road and laid every single bring she's walked on.

Well if you are so into her you should know full well she jacked Cyndi Lauper's style, got the concept for her song “Vogue” from Mclaren’s “Deep In Vogue,” plagiarized the song “Justify My Love” from a poem written by Prince‘s protégé Ingrid Chavez, and has copied as much, if not more, from other artists as Gaga has allegedly copied.

Care to tell us how many cases of plagiarism Madonna has lost? If you know that then compare that to the cases of plagiarism Gaga has lost.

I’m sorry, but like I said I respect Madonna as an American and music icon, but she’s still human, and vile one at that.

Hey I am not saying Gaga hasn't taken a page from Madonna's book. She has said so herself various times and has stated Grace Jones as a strong influence even after Grace Jones went all bitter on her.

But you guys also can't say Madonna was original. She never was. She took as much from other previous artists (and contemporary ones) as Gaga is doing now.

And that I am aware Gaga has yet to steal songs or get sued, and lose, because of a case of plagiarism.

And how are you gonna tell me Madonna isn't following this "oh I was bullied when I was a kid too" trend when she has never made that point in prior occasions?

I used to be a HUGE Madonna fan. Yet over the last five years this has changed dramatically and it's thanks to the internet. You can now see where all Madonna's 'trends and influences' have come from and how crappy she is. Back in the 80's and early 90's she was interesting, yet back then we didn't really know where all her plagarism and appropriation came from.

As for Lady GaGa her interest in GLBTI and Bullying issues are just trendy causes, I don't believe she has genuine credibility. Another example is the rugby player Ben Cohen and his anti-bullying in sport stance, it's a huge P.R. stunt to bolster and give credibility to their celebrity.

Exactly, thank you. Another title Madonna has, that very few people know about, is the Queen of Thieves. She has more court cases under her belt than #1 hits.

As for your opinion on Gaga, not gonna lie at times it does seem like this whole "I'm the gay messiah" is a bit too IDK sketchy.

But I think it is genuine because she has stated that she got her start in gay clubs and the gay audience was the first one to recognize her. Proven by the fact that her first ever televised live performance was on Logo's NewNowNext awards.

Oh and not just that but she donated one million, 1,000,000, dollars to an LGBT homeless youth foundation.

Like many people out there who have so much money, that the only thing they can find to do with it is wipe their ass, don't even do that.

Being supportive of LGBT issues and bullying issues are no guarantees to win you a lot of fans. Particularly LGBT issues. Lord, people are so jaded.... as if its IMPOSSIBLE that Lady Gaga actually gives a shit about gay people. No, it must all be a publicity stunt and a way to suck money out of people! icon_rolleyes.gif

If she wanted more money, she'd be less political, keep her wacky image and just market that to lots of people who would otherwise like her if she didn't go on and on about LGBT issues.

Madonna has mentioned being bullied many times in previous interviews. Maybe if you paid attention you'd know. Or if you were a fan. She has talked about being bullied for dressing differently than others, and for pushing the envelope. She has talked about being punched by another chick because of her mouth.

As far as originality, Madonna is and she isn't. Just like anyone else in this world, she is influenced by others. Her skill is taking this influence and bringing it to the forefront of people's minds and conscious. She also does have plenty of original ideas and material that others can only dream about coming up with, but those works are album-treasures not released on radio or video. The reality is that most artists are "stealing" from others in some way shape or form. But because of Madonna's immense success, she comes under the highest level of scrutiny.

And, yes, Madonna has many lawsuits out against her. When is the last time she lost one or settled one? Please enlighten us.

Very true. I know many people she has nauseated with this whole gay bullying issue.

A lot of my friends are fed up with her constantly professing her love for the LGBT community. It's turning people off to her. Yet she continues to do it.

Hating on Madonna? Wow...THAT's original!! People have been hating on her since her very first hits. I remember after "Borderline" they were calling her a "one-hit-wonder". Millions of albums, tons of Top 40 hits, Grammy Awards, movies, clothing lines, and multiple sold-out tours later "The Queen of Pop" is still laughing all the way to the bank. As for her being bullied in high school, this is nothing new. I remember her talking about this in interviews early on in her career. It always cracks me up when these kids (i.e. the OP here) are hating on the very artists that laid the groundwork for some of the biggest stars of their generation. Madonna's place in history and the stamp she has left in the world of pop music is the stuff of legend and can never be taken away from her. She is the epitome of "Pop Icon".

If you are talking 10 years ago, no LGBTI issues weren't trendy and very marginalised so it would have been a big career risk to support them.

Yet today, it's a different story. Lady GaGa pushes the trends way out there and LGBTI issues are the cool trends at the moment, so of course she is going to endorse the issues, it actually fits her image of matyr to the marginalised very well.

Just curious as to what makes you think Gaga lacks "credibility" in her interest in GLBTI and bullying issues....how does one "gain" credibility in these?

Well the argument can be made for both Madonna and Gaga that it is referencing. What some people take as stealing is in fact referencing. For instance Madonna's Material Girl video is a reference to Marilyn Monroe's film scene of Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend. But then there are cases of her actually taking music material that isn’t hers, I.e. Chavez’s poem.

And actually she has two lawsuits pending I believe. One for using the name "Material Girl," I think for her clothing line, and I forgot the other. Give me a sec and I'll look em up for you, if you like. icon_smile.gif

Who's denying she has short-comings? Even Madonna herself would admit to that. Name any mega world-class star who doesn't have short-comings? In fact, what human being doesn't have short-comings?

Actually, I am a big Madonna fan. I am not here to argue because I think your mind is set. I do remember watching and reading many interviews back in the early 80's (prior to your birth) about how she was tormented and teased an awful lot. I know she was harassed. I mean here's a girl who did not shave under her arms.....So I can see why she might be bugged.

I don't see Madonna as a lair or evil person. She is no more evil than the pope or your baptist priest or anyone else. I think she is her self.. Now, I do think the sacred cow of the bunch is KIM K! Go figure! Life is full of taunts, tortures and provocateurs!

Yes well way to generalize her involvement in multiple lawsuits, her recent participation in a suicide case and God only knows what else.

Listen Madonna is a mega star, but you don’t get that far without doing something shady, or somethings.

If you don’t care and decide to turn a blind eye that’s fine. But don’t expect others who care for those she’s personally victimized to do the same simply because she’s a successful.

If to you it is fine that she had to steal people's hard work and step on people to get where she is, that's fine. Some of us are just not siding with that.

Hey, you go right on bashing Madonna until the cows come home for all I care. Knock yourself out. Like I said, this isn't anything new or original -- get in line with all the haters who tried, and failed, to bring her down. It's amusing to see you cheerleading for those poor people that evil Madonna has "personally victimized". Good luck with that! icon_lol.gif

Yeah well you should have seen the case she lost where she had to pay millions for stealing songwriting credit that wasn‘t hers. That was more amusing.

And don't you worry I'll try my best. icon_biggrin.gif

I'm sure that really put a dent in her bank account.
