I know I'm not quite a member of the FFG club, but I do think there should be a T-shirt when I do make it there.

I am down 100 pounds now, and I thought I would ask what are the things you wish people would quit asking or saying to you about your weight loss...

    Here are mine...

    1) You don't need to lose any more weight. You looked better when you were heavier (or some variation of that). You just don't even look like you anymore. (Yes, people actually say that to me a lot.)

    2) Well, do you feel better now??? - (No, I felt better when I weighed over 300 pounds and had to sleep sitting up because of acid reflux and just walking from my car to the elevator caused me to have to stop to catch my breath. Those were much better days...)

Some people are just jealous and would like to tear you down. They are mad that you are losing weight. So they say things like that. When I was 13 I started to lose weight and a year later at 14 I eventually became very skinny and all people had to say to me was shit like "are you anorexic or bulimic" and I was basically persecuted on false charges of being an anorexic.....all that nonsense did was make me become fat again.

We are creatures of habit. Some people are resistant to change, even if it is better for one's health and happiness.

Maybe they are afraid that your personality will change along with your new look. Believe me, one's attitude and personality does change when he/she drops a lot of weight and starts feeling more secure and comfortable in his/her own flesh.

Your friends may just be worried that you will find healther and better looking friends and leave them behind. Either way, it's your life so live it for yourself and enjoy your new healthy lifestyle.

I think subconsciously people still associate being skinny with being poor and/or unhealthy and being fat with being rich and well-fed. It's a stereotype that doesn't work in modern society. Look at how many commercials peddle giant-sized meals for "real men" who are really just obese, out-of-shape guys.

Edit: As a former fat guy, what I get sick of most is people telling me that I'm too skinny. They're basing it totally on their perceptions of my outward appearance. I politely tell them that my body fat percentage is fine and that athletes have an even lower body fat percentage than I do. Hearing actual facts usually shuts them up.

I get that somewhat. I lost 26lbs. People keep trying to get me to eat poorly or make me feel guilty I wont. I just tell them its my journey and they can do or eat what they want. If they tell me I obsess I ask why they care so much.

    I lost 100 lbs.

Here are some of the few that kind of grate on me haha.

    1) Yeah, family members especially are guilty of the "you don't need to lose anymore weight! I don't recognize you" business. Well, mom, you said that when I was a giant whale too, so I think I'll take it with a grain of salt this time around.

    2) "You shouldn't think about it so much. We/I want you to be happy." You know what makes me happy? Not being morbidly obese.

    3) "What's your secret?" Diet and exercise. Turns out it's not a secret... go figure.

Yes. I am getting all three of these. - I have been sharing my experience on facebook all along, and yet, I still am getting messages asking me how I've lost all the weight. - I reply back - diet and exercise and leave it at that.

I totally get all of the comments about people being resistant to change. - I have actually lost 100 pounds twice before and gained it back. - I am hoping this time will be different. This time I have made the focus the exercise - which I have never done before. I am not doing a fad diet. - My mother called me yesterday and we were talking about the fact that I hired a personal trainer. She said that her concern was what would happen when I got tired of the personal trainer and decided start eating bad again - because I have a sweet tooth I should never start eating sugar again. - I told her that I didn't give up eating sugar - or any food. I allow myself occasional treats. I have just learned to eat appropriately. When I started exercising like a maniac, the eating fell into place naturally. That's why I think this time could be different.

Thanks for the comments. I just wanted to see if I was the only one who ever got these comments from family/friends...

I still do not know what FFC means. But I do want to congratulate you on losing a 100lbs. I am a trainer and I spend most of my time trying to convince people to change their eating habits. I wish more people would think like you. I would have slimmer clients. Keep up the hard work bro.

Thanks. Sorry I didn't explain FFG better. I learned the term here in the forums. I sort of like it. Maybe I will actually be one of the FFG's in the near future.

I might mention that I only started this weight loss journey in May - so it's been a little less than 6 months to lose the 100 pounds.

I am proud of myself for that.

I dropped 65lb so far in the last 5 months and I plan to continue this. I saw a picture of the dude on TheBerry that looked like my size when I started out and after two years.. wow... Indeed. I wish I had more out going friends that like to do outdoors stuff or things besides drinking and lazy shit. I mean don't get me wrong I like to chill and all too but I really want to do some pretty adventurous things now. I couldn't do them when I was big and I still am a big guy but I just feel like why not lets do this shit now? Im tired of not living life.
