It finally happened... the v card is GONE! icon_biggrin.gif

After my life imploded and hit rock bottom (that's a whole different thread), I finally manned the fuck up and went to my first gay club by myself yesterday. Met a guy, one thing lead to another, and... yeah. To be honest, I thought it was only marginally better than jerking off... probably because he bit my dick a couple times, I gagged on his a few more times, and his ass was loose as hell. A friend told me everyone's first time is mediocre, though. icon_redface.gif

    That's not the point.
The point is, I really fucked up.

We decided we were going to switch from head to anal, but neither of us had condoms. In the heat of the moment, we just said fuck it and got on with it.

I topped and I know that I am 100% disease free, which is a good start. However, I do know that there are still some risks involved with unprotected anal sex, even as the top, like bacterial infections, STIs, and all that fun stuff. He assured me he was clean, but that doesn't really mean jack shit.

    -How worried should I be?
-Is there a risk for HIV on my end and, if so, how big is it?
-Should I get myself tested for HIV and/or any STIs?
-How soon should I do that?
-Why am I such a horny idiot?

Please, don't criticize. I'm already feeling stupid enough.

    Thanks, guys.

I read somewhere to get tested for HIV at 3 weeks, 3 months, and 6 months. Does that sound about right?

    That's about right.

Do not exchange blood, semen, or vaginal fluids for the next 6 months.

Beyond HIV, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which are transmissible via unprotected sex, HPV (the virus that causes anogenital warts), herpes, and syphilis are transmissible by mere skin-to-skin contact. I.e., kissing, anal, even dry humping.

Grats on losing the v-card and sounds like you had a inexperienced bottom.

Get tested then come to CT. I'll show you what a bottom is supposed to be like ;)

The guy you had sex with, if he's been around the block more than you know of, needs to get tested asap. If he was poz, it will probably show up. His test results will give you yours. Please learn from this. G/L
Edit: His test results MAY give you yours

This was his first time so how would he know? To the OP, use this as a lesson. The likelihood that you've gotten an STI from a one time experience is tiny, but find out for sure. If you don't have condoms then don't fuck; oral sex can be plenty of fun by itself.

Uh, not so much. That's like saying that if someone has mono and you share a straw, you automatically get mono. Doesn't work that way.

Like I said, his ass was loose as hell. I was able to use spit as lube and it slipped right in... and he seemed to love it. I was always under the impression this was next to impossible. icon_eek.gif

HIV/AIDS in the gay community is seriously a big issue. You just played Russian roulette for no reason. I don't even know you and it makes me really mad.

OP, guys will lie to get you in bed. Someone saying that he's clean is not as reliable as a paper that proves his results are negative for STI/STD's. Sorry to say, you should be kinda worry :-/

From what I understand: Three conditions must be met for HIV transmission to occur:

    HIV must be present;
Infection can only happen if one of the persons involved is infected with HIV. Some people assume that certain behaviors (such as anal sex) cause AIDS, even if HIV is not present. This is not true.

    In sufficient quantity;
The concentration of HIV determines whether infection may happen. In blood, for example, the virus is very concentrated. A small amount of blood is enough to infect someone. A much larger amount of other fluids would be needed for HIV transmission.

And it must get into the bloodstream.
It is not enough to be in contact with an infected fluid to become infected. Healthy, unbroken skin does not allow HIV to get into the body; it is an excellent barrier to HIV infection. HIV can only enter through an open cut or sore, or through contact with the mucous membranes in the anus and rectum, the genitals, the mouth, and the eyes.

I'd get that guy tested for HIV immediately. I'm sure you are fine. If he turns out poz....you can get on anti viral drugs that if you take soon after exposure can knock it out of your system.

I have no idea what they are, but my sister is a nurse and got stabbed with a hypodermic needle by some shady person and took them. They are brutal and make you sick...but you don't end up with HIV even if that guy is poz.

    Get him tested.

nPEP? Awesome!! I had no idea something like this existed.

I have his number; he wanted to "hang out" again, so I guess I can use that as leverage to get him in to get tested across the board as soon as possible.

Yeah I think you need to take it like soon......I'd just say hey last time was fun...I want to do bareback sex with you again, but lets get tested together to be 100% sure. After you get the results say oh woops I'm busy haha.

You could probably go get on it now regardless.....I mean a month of feeling shitty is worth not getting HIV if there is a chance he has it.

You don't need to worry as what is done is done.

You need to read this... and then get to a doctor as soon as you can get an appointment.

    http://www.getpep.info/so.html

Research indicates that taking PEP makes infection with HIV a lot less likely. But PEP doesn't work every time - some people who take it still end up with HIV afterwards. It can fail because:

. some anti-HIV drugs don't work against some strains of HIV
. the initial viral load (amount of HIV) in the body was too great
. the virus was replicating too rapidly for the drugs or the body's immune system to control
. the body's immune system is already damaged.

However, the sooner PEP treatment is begun after exposure to the virus, the more likely it is to work.

The longer you wait, the more chance there is that PEP won't work. PEP usually isn't given more than 72 hours (3 days) after exposure as studies show it is unlikely to be effective after this time.

    How worried should I be?

-Is there a risk for HIV on my end and, if so, how big is it?

Yes. About 1 in 250 for HIV+ people who do not take retrovirals, and about 1 in 500-2,000 for those who do.

-Should I get myself tested for HIV and/or any STIs?

If you develop symptoms, yes. If not, wait three months and get tested for HIV.

-How soon should I do that?

You can get an STI panel whenever you want, HIV detection takes longer.

-Why am I such a horny idiot?

It was your first time, just come prepared next time.
