I guess it happens in almost every city sooner or later. Which just goes to show that gay men aren't really that different from everyone else. icon_cry.gif

It's a very sad story that just keeps unraveling as more reports come out.

The alleged jealous ex was arrested at the airport trying to buy a ticket out of town after the murder. He emptied over 30 bullets into his ex's body.

He even traveled thousands of miles from Knoxville, TN to commit the murder.

The bartender Phil Wells, was well-liked and a very nice man I had the bried pleasure of knowing.

My heart goes out to the bartender's family and the people who witnessed it in the bar.

I was struck when I first heard about it. Very tragic, and such strange circumstances...Since I go there sometimes, it's eerie to think that such events could occur there.

Sad but not surprised at the ignorant comments, including the guy calling the photo of the two friends hugging "Disgusting".

exactly. why let something like a brutal murder get in the way of being repulsed at two men holding hands?

It took you 50 years to learn this, how lucky are you. I too being 50 and working for the gay community in the 80s, in a bathhouse and gay bar, got to witness man sad and disturbing things, were one gay/bi person was to take the life of many, by carelessly and recklessly infecting them with the HIV virus. A bullet to the head would of been kinder. I stoped seeing gays as being any diffrent a very long time ago now.

The difference here is: The guys that got infected had the choice to say yes or no to the Infector. The poor bartender had no chance at all.
