Those people who could be potentially attractive that never try... Ever wish you could just jump in their body for one day? What would you change?

I have a friend, she's short. But has a great figure and just got her braces off. I see her everyday and we always go out together. But it's like she has no clue, she can't straighten her hair, whenever she trys to color it at home it goes wrong and doesn't get the roots and she has money but would never spend it at a hairdressers and I told her she had a mullet once and she went crazy because she thought it was nice (She cut it at home). She can't do her own makeup because it's terrible and she just looks like a clown cakeface. She wears like country clothes but trys to do them up and looks like a backwards redneck. I use to have the same problem, I had an ugly fro but could never see what was wrong with it in the mirror. I'm not saying I'm good or perfect, but I wish I could show her. If she wasn't so prone to criticism I could make her look really nice. I'd dye her hair one black colour, slight curls, skinny jeans, nice top. Good shoes. Ughhhh. Just annoys me. I don't know why, I understand some people are happy with how they look and that's fine.. But it's because she's serious about it all. Yet she has no clue. Iunno, I sound mean. I'd never act upon it. But do you guys get the same feeling sometimes? Their wwas another guy i saw the other day aswell, average build, tall. But was wearing grose clothes, had a HUGE curly afro and a unibrow. He was trying to pick me up, thing is. If he just cleaned up and I was single. I wouldn't of objected.

no, i never have the arrogance to think i could make anyone look better because i realize my style and taste are my opinion. furthermore, i love how you start off with "i have a friend" and proceed to sound like anything but that. you sound like a catty, judgmental prick.

    Hmm..icon_smile.gif

Maybe your friend belongs to the "I don't give a damn"club. She may well be content with her image.

I often head out in my Geo Metro to buy groceries wearing rubber boots, sweats and my hair tied back in a messy ponytail because well....I don't give a damn.icon_lol.gif

BTW, I'm totally the girl you described, but I don't try and fail...

I simply don't try. Something I need to work on: caring about image.

Wanting to help someone look more socially acceptable and therefore more likely to get dates or a well-paying job isn't catty, it's expressing concern for your friend's potential happiness that could be stunted by their poor choices in clothing etc.
That's like saying that it's catty and judgmental to want to help a friend learn some CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) because they are too emotional and overreact to things, and you'd like to see them be more successful in their reactions to situations.

funny that you mention this, i don't think I'm that attractive, but I definitely don't give a damn of how I look to someone. I dance a lot so I'm either wearing sweats or basketball/short shorts. In one of my business classes, my group member tried to say in a nice way that i should not wear what I wear to class anymore nor when we do our projects. I laughed it off until the next time she speaks out of line hahahaha. Anyways what I'm trying to say is no matter how poorly dressed or ugly someone is, they could probably careless of what others think about them. Also, this way if she were to land a date, the guy(or girl) would already know what her worst looks like. JUST SAYING everybody wins

One thing I hated working at Express was when I'd be asked to help out people find a nice outfit and here I am using my skills and they are like just fighting me the whole way. They end up picking something that looks horrible on them but they love it! My boss was like... "Ryan, please tell me you did not put that hot mess together!" I looked at her... "Girl Please! She did that all on her own. You'll have to excuse me now. I'm like "Pontius" and wipe my hands clean of the situation and go to lunch. That shit was exhausting!" She loved me! =-)

AMoonHawk saidI might have thought like that at one time, but now I'm like what ever makes people comfortable and happy. Who am I to judge? Now if they ask for my opinion, then I'll give it.

We're all beautiful in our own unique way.
