Any ultra-long distance cyclists here? Cross-Canada riders?

I'm investigating doing a ride from Inuvik NT to St. John's NL (Canada) next summer and would appreciate hearing from anyone who has experience in loooooooong rides.
I'm comfortable doing 200k/day rides, but that's on a stripped down road bike. When I was in my twenties I rode the length of Vancouver Island on a mountain bike (500k) in a day so I know I've got the stamina.

I've never done them but a friend has done several cross country transcontinental rides with PacTour (www.pactour.com). You should check them out if you're interested in seeing the US. They'll ride 30 days straight averaging 125 miles a day. Sounds crazy to me. Week long bike tours with that level of mileage has been my max.

The Demster is totally doable. I cycled chunks of it and the Klondike Highway about ten years ago. I think the issue is how long do you want to take doing it, and if this is realistic. It's a gravel road, so if it's wet you can expect lots of mud, gravel and flat tires.

After the Dempster the roads are ok.
