This looks very cool. If anyone does go, take heaps of pictures. I'd love to, but it's a whole wrong continent issue

This definitely sounds cool. I'm not ready for it this year, but might be a great goal for next year. Thanks for passing along the info.

I'm also thinking this might be a next year event. I love obstacle courses, but the Chicago site's the more reasonable one for me, and 10.5 miles is longer than I'm capable of handling.

Some folks at my gym are all gonna go do it together and are trying to rope me into it. I'm a little on the fence...but it does look like it would be crazy fun.

Hmmm...definitely looks like a lot of fun and NYC is only 3 hrs away. We could have a RJ get together after!

Good idea! I never thought an RJ get-together would happen in NYC. I figured it would always be something like, "I'll be on the 'C' train at 3:00 p.m. this afternoon. Say 'hello' if you see me."

Thought I'd post some more details directly here to see if it piques any more interest:

New York, NY - Saturday, September 27, 2008

    Entry Fees
Solo: $90.00 (register before midnight 8/29/0icon_cool.gif
*Team: $135.00 (register before midnight 8/29/0icon_cool.gif

*A team consists of three athletes, all male, female or co-ed. Complete information on all three athletes must be entered in order to register.

Please note that the race is rigorous; it is pproximately 10 miles and includes obstacle courses and an extensive stair climb (52 flights). You must be physically fit. The relay course is 3-4 miles per person and is a good alternative if the solo course is too difficult.

It does sound awesome, the videos on the site looks like it's alot of fun too.

Is 12 weeks enough time to prepare for it?

    I'm thinking of doing it

I def think you need to be in pretty good shape to begin with.

As for preparing, a bunch of us are just ramping up our time on stairs (World Trade Center 7 is 52 flights up) and ensuring we can do the mileage with ease considering you have to stop and you know, jump cabs along the way! LOL!! This is gonna be insane!
