What's wrong with transgendered people?

One of my best mates is a guy, but he wants to be a girl. He hates anything about himself that makes him manly, like he really hates his facial hair for example. He feels as if he's trapped in the wrong body - i.e. a girl in a guy's body.

My question is, what have people got against him? Why do people discriminate more against trans people than LGB people? And also, why do some LGB people discriminate against trans people? What's wrong with trans people?

I'm guessing because people find that extreme behavior very weird and uncomfortable.

Most people don't hate trannys, they simply find them extremely weird and uncomfortable.

Why would someone hate someone for being a jew? Why would someone hate someone for being gay, black, hispanic, asian, white or handicapped? Every group has its haters.

We live in a world full of awful people and there's nothing that will change that..

Trans have their advantages...but they too discriminate against gay people too, e.g. "I want a MAN not some faggot".

I think as long as a trans person is not too IN YOUR FACE about their change then most people don't care. But some people take it to the next level, or half ass at it. I mean, if you're dressing up and you're 6'5, with a 5 o clock shadow, you're just gonna look weird and bring stares. It's not normal nor will it ever be outside of Halloween and gay pride events.

I've had a couple trans friends, but so far there is only 1 that I really clicked with and I knew him from a boy and watched him transform into a real woman. It was fucking amazing.

I have a friend now who is trans, but it's like when we hang out she's either really introverted or really loud and dramatic and it just kind of puts me off. But she's been a better friend than any of these faggots out here I've met.

the same things that are wrong w/ everyone else, are wrong w/ transgendered ppl.

someone told me, and i've found this accurate: what you don't like about other ppl, is what you don't like about yourself. trans ppl make some ppl uncomfortable b/c there is something about them that holds up a mirror.

there is also the fear of the "other" that factors in. what we don't understand, we fear. fear leads to hate/anger/etc.
