You're either part of the problem, or you're part of the solution, Jake.

Or you can leave, if it's that detestable here for you.icon_rolleyes.gif

I have to agree with Jake.. These ARE great commercials.. and it IS embarrassing that this country doesnt have the BALLS to air thing such as this!

And I am the solution and not going anywhere.. not until they pry my constitution out of my cold dead hands.

America would have to have equality for all its citizens before it could make these adds.

    At present it does not.

    DOMA, etc

I am just proud, and filled with hope, that at least somewhere in the world a government and people would allow commercials such as this to be shown. I hope these are on youtube. I didn't check. And has any of us US citizens sent these spots to our representatives?

Those are incredibly well done and thought provoking commercials. Definitely challenges the viewer to explain why the two situations should be treated differently. For those that are more aware, does Argentina have problems with machismo, and does that affect the way that LGBT members are treated?

Why is it that whenever someone criticizes the country they are invited to leave it? It's supposed to be a free and open society where everyone's ideas are heard. This is the core of our freedoms that we are constantly lectured at about. So anything ever done by the government of the US is supposed to be about protecting the "freedoms" of the people here, but the moment anyone questions or protests the status quo they are told to leave or beaten and pepper sprayed. That's not exactly logically consistent. Criticizing the status quo IS part of the solution.

Here's the question: Did these commercials actually air on TV there? And if so, how widely? Could be just great commercials that were never broadcasted.

The organization I'm part of makes ads like this, and they were deemed by the major networks too "controversial" for prime-time TV. The same TV that brings you masturbation jokes on Two and a Half Men, countless depictions of promiscuity, violence and organized crime.

There really is no freedom in the US.. back in the day and even today people are shut up for being "commie" or "hippie" or "unpatriotic" when they disagree with something, and nowadays they can brand you as "terrorist" and remove you for safety/security reasons.. the same strategy was/is used by the communists in Russia.. cept they would brand someone "capitalist" or "traitor"... and remove you for safety/security reasons

Its exactly the same argument to shut someone up.. has nothing to do with reality

There should be a football and a NASCAR vehicle in there somewhere. And possibly a Wal-Mart.

One of the upstanding young ladies could possibly be holding the football.

Where did I call him unpatriotic, or commie, or pinko, or terrorist?!?
Really if you find your country so backward or lacking, why wouldn't you consider moving to a more " enlightened" one?
No where did I say he didn't have the right to say what he said. Just as I have the right to remind him of his options. Or is it just Politically Correct speech that is protected now?

So if htere is a problem, why would he have to leave for recognising that there is one? You cant fix a problem if you dont recognise it or leave

Anyways, Im not into debating this.. I agree with Jake and you for needing a solution... I disagree with you for suggesting that leaving is a solution.. that is all
