So I am jobless and applying like crazy and came across this on Craigslist:

    http://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/etc/2708891322.html

It's really tempting, but I can't get past the fact that I might have children running around whom I will never know... There's also this "Program requires a six-month commitment of weekly visits". Six months! Holy shit.. I'll have an ARMY of kids.

ROFL... Anyone here ever donate sperm to a lab?

It is only weird if you really think about it.

And only if you think about "having kids" a certain way. I think the real parents of a kid are the ones who raised it. You won't know the neither the kids, nor the parents, and I think it's pretty much complicated for them to get to you in the future.

Maybe you should ask for more info? And give'em my name, too.

It's a scam. Not like they don't want your sperm, but they want to fertilize all the embryos they can lay their hands on, so that when the Personhood Amendment finally passes, they can claim tax deductions with the embryos.

heres where my imagination gets outta hand....you might be donating your sperm to a private army experiment...or a alien hybrid clinic..you never know. I believe that men who give away their sperm are just men who wish to be immortal..and this is the closest they will ever get....and 150 a week ..no mines are worth much more lol.

I've only REALLY been searching for a solid week. Before that I was holding on to the idea that I would get more business with film/photography. The job market isn't horrible here.

Do you even have desirable genes? Not being rude or nasty. But women are given your phenotype when choosing their, um, sperm. LOL

I did this in the past (for a friend who wanted to be a single mother).

It's not as easy as jacking off into a cup. You're gonna have to make a few lifestyle changes.

It's small things like wearing loose underwear, not taking hot baths or showers. No sex allowed during this period, you're not even allowed to ejaculate unless it's into a cup. No caffiene, no smoking, no alcohol, and a healthy diet is important.

These things need to be started well in advance so you might not see a pay out for for a while still. And some of these places only pay you once your sperm has been elected by a recipient.

Plus there is rigorous screening involved so at the end of it you might get DECLINED stamped on your nutsack.

Just make sure you have your family and medical history and IQ ready. They scrutinize that very closely.

I'd say go for it. Just make sure you read the contract thoroughly and ensure that you have no liability.

Well I'd like to do it. to make money and also so after I'm dead I'll have a million descendants one day. But, I heard it's difficult and torturously long process, plus they don't even allow gay men (I also heard)....because they think we have teh AIDS.icon_rolleyes.gif

Yup. But I didn't know about IQ, just guess it is a marketing tool. Because IQ is not hereditary. But IQ range is determined via family genealogy, so I guess it makes some biological/logical sense.

And of course. Don't they put you guys in books but blur out the faces? And they list your height, eye color, hair color, shoe size, everything. Hmm wonder if penis size is listed, prolly not. What mother is thinking bout her child's possible package. lol

And funny thing is Iono why they use sperm banks anymore. It is now possible to design your babies,

You might be thinking of blood donation.

With sperm donation they run a full spectrum STD scan and you have follow up tests.

In any case, even if the male counterpart is HIV positive it is still possible to impregnate the female without infecting her or, eventually, the baby.

I doubt anyone would take the chance regardless. I wouldn't.

I'd agree with you on that. I don't know what the stats are but I think medical advances and protocols can make it 100%, or close to it) safe.

Yeah but I mean people have yet to you develop some sort of rational view on the infection-cycle/properties towards HIV and AIDS. To really understand it. People who are doubly educated on the matter wouldn't dare to dance with the devil on that.

    So yeah. Don’t blame em.
